Madhappy Reviews

3.8

Madhappy earns polarized reviews: many praise the hoodies’ thick, cozy materials, unique collaborations (Space Jam, Mr. Chow, Columbia, GAP), flattering fits like the New York Optimism and Buddy blue hoodies, and a mission rooted in mental health, while others report garments unraveling at seams, color fading, awkward cinched waists, inconsistent sizing, and disappointing outerwear durability. The brand is admired for design and comfort but criticized for quality control and rigid, slow support policies, making it compelling for collab-driven, soft heavyweight sweats yet risky for buyers sensitive to durability and aftercare issues.

  • Madhappy does the best collabs. I love my Madhappy x Columbia puffer. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't be worth the price, but it absolutely was. Stylish and warm and SO many pockets (6 total). Sometimes the sizing can be a little tricky since a lot of the items are unisex. I probably would have sized down to an XS (instead of a small) but I don't mind it being oversized.

  • Extremely disappointed with the quality of Madhappy garments, especially considering the exorbitant prices. We purchased a couple hoodies, and the some of them are coming apart at the exact same pocket seam after standard and actually seldom usage; that is clearly a manufacturing defect or plain poor craftsmanship, not a coincidence. To make matters worse, the color fades significantly after washing. When I reached out to have these defective items rectified, customer service was futile and only offered a 10% discount on a new purchase. We like to support up and coming fashion brands especially those with an avant-garde vibe but given the lack of care and post purchase support we'll never buy from them again. It is no surprise to see that if you look up their physical store in NY or Miami on google they are labeled "permanently closed".

  • I bought my first Madhappy sweatshirt in 2017 and have been following and purchasing occasionally from the brand since then. While at the time, $150 for a sweatshirt was a bit steep, this seems to be the norm these days + their clothing is really high quality and branding/mission is thoughtful, so feels reasonable in that sense. Love that they've expanded into other product categories over the years + built out a mental health platform & blog.

Probably should note that some items sell out pretty quickly, but understand that's part of the hype

  • Like an idiot I washed and dried my sweatshirt, so that's definitely my fault. I really like the designs and it's super comfortable. I wish I hadn't done that because it's kind of cropped now and it's not the look I was going for.
