  • Niche perfumery house started by Jean Laporte in the 1970s. He came up with Mûre et Must (blackberry & white musk) which was unique in its use of fruit in fragrances. They have a lovely store on rue des Francs Bourgeouis in the Marais. My favorite product is their Boule d'Ambre - a beautifully ornate ceramic ball which is filled with amber crystals. The smell is divine. Although refills for the balls have been difficult to get for the past several years. Highly recommend La Chasse aux Papillons, Mémoire des Roses and L'Eau d'Ambre.

  • L'Artisan Parfumeur's storytelling sets it apart in a league of its own. Every perfume in their range comes with a captivating backstory, and it was these narratives that often persuaded me during my exploration of their fragrances. The quality of their perfumes is top-notch, with scents that linger for hours on end. Among my favourites are Premier Figuier, Memoire de Roses, Fou D'Absinthe, Timbuktu, and Venenum. I recommend their brand often.
