I personally really like my check-in but agree on the scratches issue. However I have to say the wheels hold up way better than Away and the ability to easily adjust the height of the handle is great. It’s just really convenient as someone who is smaller and the wheels being less likely to have issues is really nice as someone who travels about once a month. Also the lifetime warranty is so nice and customer support responds about it super fast. I had the insert break and received a replacement in a week.

Worst product, broke on first trip. To make matters worst their customer service is appalling bad, tried to wear you down with endless emails bullying you into taking a ‘repair’ reluctantly offered a replacement the I finally got my refund. For those who have been stonewalled try this number 03 9917 7530, and persevere.

I have purchased two carry on and one checked bag from July as well as compression packs and have been very satisfied with every item. They are super sleek and beautiful. The plastic used in the luggage is pretty flexible - I’ve definitely stuffed them to the point that I was concerned that it might lead to warping or damage to the zipper and that’s never happened. I also purchased a pretty light color (can’t remember the color but it’s an ivory shade) and I’ve found that even when it does get marked up in travel, it’s pretty easy to clean. I’m a huge fan! 

I bought a July luggage set with the carry on and plus checked in two years ago. I chose this because I didn't want the same away luggage everyone had. Luckily- it's been easy to spot my luggage at the airport baggage claim and overall the bag has held up. 

My issues with this so far is that it does dent fairly easily and I even had a wheel fly off. Luckily the csm team sent me new wheels to attach on for free as part of their lifetime warranty. I do worry about the long term longevity. 

Overall, I like the aesthetic and colors but I hope the investment is worth it longterm.

Bought two bags - check-in and carryon. On the fifth day of use the chain broke. Avoid this company as they are made of cheap material and overpriced luggage. 


I purchased the July check-in and carry-on luggage in brown from the Vintage collection in late 2023. They were used for one trip; and two destinations. 98% of the time the luggage was lying on the floor in the hotel room. The amount of scuffing and distress on both bags is phenomenal. Both bags look as if they have been around the world copious times. I contacted customer service and attached images, but they refused to assist me even though the advertising byline for the Vintage collection is
"Say no to scuffs. Nothing cramps our style like scuffs. Our limited edition Heritage Trunks have a scuff-proof, crush-proof shell to withstand even the bumpiest of turbulence. All that’s left to do? "

Luggage that doesn’t feel like baggage.

After thoroughly testing the July suitcases in all weather a climate conditions Aus has to offer I’ll be making the switch for my husbands luggage as well. 

The only issue I have had was when the zips wouldn’t lock into place, this was quickly resolved via email communication with July.

I’ll be road testing the suitcases more thoroughly with a 3 mouth European trip upcoming.

I’m incredibly disappointed with July luggage. Their website claims a 100-day money-back guarantee, but that’s completely misleading! The fine print? You can only return it if you haven’t used the luggage—what kind of guarantee is that? For the high price, you’d expect quality, but after just one trip, the suitcase was already falling apart. Their customer service is terrible, and I hope they’re held accountable for misleading customers. Don’t be fooled by their claims of Australian or UK origins—it’s cheaply made in China. I wish I had read other reviews before purchasing. Your greed will catch up to you July and you will go out of business 

The quality of the suitcase wasn’t what I expected — there were some gaps in the construction that make it look cheap. 

The carry on suitcase is sleek, with a unique shape. I love the option to personalize and the packaging which feels very premium. 

Was it necessary? No. Was it expensive? Yes. But the quality is good and I value having matching items, so I appreciate my travel feeling luxurious now even if I'm still flying economy. :) The Carry On Light changed traveling for me because it's easy to lift and very lightweight - it feels a little rickety at times because of how light it is but I've beaten it up and dragged it over cobblestone and there hasn't been any damage or warping. Definitely a luxury purchase with the Carry On Light holding most of the value for me.

I purchased a Checked and Carry On Light as part of a discounted pack - I originally only purchased the Carry On Light and customer service allowed me to add on a discounted Checked after the fact. The suitcases shipped fast from Australia to NYC and were packaged nicely with duster bags. I appreciate the little details (reinforced corners, laundry bags, locks, etc) and the hard yet flexible shell cover. I made this purchase for the Carry On Light because I usually don't pack much for short trips and struggle to lift carry-on luggage into the overhead bins by myself. I added on the Checked so that my bags would all match.

Probably can find a cheaper suitcase, with the same quality. I really don't like that it says JULY all over the suitcase too - it really cheapens it. 

I bought the large version of the check-in luggage and it's a good bag. It's light and has helpful compartments. I don't think it can fit that much stuff however, and I even used their packing cubes. The biggest negative with this brand was their customer service in store. I bought their suitcase online, and the cubes in store. The in-store experience made me question my choice in shopping their brand completely. 

My main recommendation is getting the slightly bigger version that has space for shoes underneath. It can fit a lot of clothing but doesn't have a ton of space for a true weekend away. 

I bought a weekender bag from July about a year ago and love the bag. It is really chic and easy to use. It fits under the seat so it can be your personal item. 

4.5 if I could. It's a great luggage and I think is worth its value over the other new luggage brands (e.g. Away, Monos, Calpak, Beis, etc.) since they have a lifetime warranty on their products and all the other ones are starting to look the same. I also think their wheels are noticeably better than the other brands. Only downside is the corners do get scratched up pretty quickly and shipping is relatively slow in the US since they're an Australian brand.

The suitcase is not worth the money. I made a mistake. The minute you pack your suitcase a bit more, it opens up and draws in at the seams, the clip on laptop bag doesn't clip on and the utility of the bag loses any value. I would stick to better brands as this is not what I expected for the price I paid. I have had to bin it and will stick to the better brands. The many positive reviews that I saw are likely all bought and fake. This cannot be really what people think of this product.

Truly the best luggage I have ever owned. So sleek with amazing colors and easy to navigate through the airport. 

I have had this carryon suitcase for 4 years now and it is in amazing shape. I love the sleek military-like design. lightweight enough to roll around the terminal.

Wheels melted (!) and broke off after 3 weeks of light usage. July unwilling to offer a replacement to my location. Lock and handle were both fiddly and difficult to use. Deeply disappointing. 

Update: replacement wheels were eventually shipped (2 instead of 4 for some reason). Installed as per direction, and then that wheel snapped off a week later.

I was initially impressed with the attractive colors, packaging, and overall presentation of July cases when I came across them online. Excited about the prospect of quality luggage, I purchased six cases for my family. Regrettably, my experience took a turn for the worse soon after taking them on our first flight when I discovered that three of the cases were damaged.

Hoping for a resolution, I promptly contacted the July team via email, providing them with detailed information and accompanying photos of the damaged cases. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service proved to be highly disappointing. Despite engaging in numerous back-and-forth exchanges, the team continuously requested additional information, including more photos and videos showcasing the condition of the zippers and handles.

After enduring two extensive months of correspondence and diligently providing all the requested evidence, I was disheartened to receive a refund for only one of the damaged cases. This left me bewildered, as the representative in the refund email explicitly mentioned that "those," referring to the three cases, could not be resolved, and a refund under warranty would be processed. Such wording led me to believe that all three cases would be addressed. To my surprise, only one refund was issued.

Seeking clarity, I reached out to the representative, Maddie, once again, despite having already shared all the necessary information. Maddie requested that I undergo the whole process of providing additional photos and information, causing further frustration and confusion.

Reluctantly, I complied with the request, only to receive another disappointing response. The other two cases were deemed to have cosmetic damage that allegedly did not affect their functionality, rendering them ineligible for a refund. This decision left me frustrated, as all three cases were genuinely damaged and thus unable to be repaired or used.

I feel compelled to caution others not to be deceived by the bright colors and impressive showroom presentations. What truly matters is the quality of the product, and unfortunately, July luggage failed to deliver on this front.

Overall, my experience with July has been highly unsatisfactory, characterized by a lack of effective communication and inconsistent adherence to warranty terms. I cannot recommend their products based on my own disappointing encounter.

The colours of these are absolutely amazing and the cases look and feel gorgeous. Love that they come with a portable charger for your phone (which is easy to store for carry on). However they don't wear well and get damaged quite easily.
