  • We tried Hartzler milk on a whim as we saw they were sourced locally and were committed to offering a healthy product. Since trying it we are hooked! It is now the only milk we buy. They have skim, 2% and whole milk options in addition, they offer a full sized chocolate milk (which is heavenly) and a eggnog version during the holidays. Even cooler - they offer mini milks in fun flavors (orange, berry, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate) which are all delicious! My personal favorite is the vanilla version as it is wonderful in coffee, or added to hot chocolate. I highly recommend!

I would love to see the strawberry and vanilla version in full size. The vanilla is perfect for cofffee as a coffee creamer alternative. I think some additional seasonal flavors would be fun too - ex: pumpkin spice.

  • Very creamy flavorful whole milk. Love the glass bottle!

    Maybe offer non dairy alternatives

  • I tried it once because the glass bottle always caught my attention, but I didn't think it would be that great because milk is milk. BUT, it literally changed my mind because this milk was so creamy, thick, and the taste was just different from other milk brands. I rarely drink whole milk though so it was like a treat, almost like ice cream. I also really like the bottle itself and have reused it.

  • I'm in love with the old-fashioned glass bottles. You can find these in specialty grocery stores here, and they are more expensive than regular brands (comparable to my go-to brand A2). We don't use the regular milk but prefer their smaller single-use flavored kinds of milk (strawberry and orange cream are our favorites). Highly recommend it, especially for some nostalgia.

What is Hartzler Dairy?

Hartzler Dairy makes high-quality milk, cheese, and ice cream using vat pasteurization to preserve milk's natural state.

In their own words

Grandpa Hartzler, as many people called him, built the company on the philosophy of “As Nature Intended”. Hartzler Family Dairy strives to provide wholesome products that are minimally processed, healthy, and tasty. Because of this motto, we pride ourselves that all of our half-gallon products as well as our cheeses are NON-GMO project verified. Our cows are pasture-fed in the warm months and fed silage and hay in the colder months. Our cows are not given artificial hormones which keeps our milk free from hormones. In the fields, sustainable farming practices are used to grow crops. To preserve the most natural state of milk, Hartzler Family Dairy uses Low-Temperature Vat Pasteurization which ensures our milk retains a majority of its enzymes for proper digestion and good health. We also deter from homogenizing our half-gallon milks. Homogenization is a process that breaks down the molecules in the milk to give a balanced consistency. However, milk that remains in its natural state will have a cream layer that rises to the top of the milk. Non-homogenization allows the molecules to stay intact, and those molecules carry important nutrients for the body.
