  • I finally tried Ghia and I GET the hype. I picked up the Original Aperitif and the canned Spritz, and both feel really thoughtful and grown up in a way a lot of non alcoholic drinks miss. These are not sugary substitutes trying to taste like juice. They are bitter, herbal, layered, and interesting. The kind of drink you sip slowly and actually think about. I tried the Spritz first and immediately loved it. It is earthy, citrusy, lightly sweet, and definitely bitter in a good way. It reminds me of sitting outside in peak summer heat with salty air and sun on your skin. Very botanical and very refreshing. It honestly scratches the same itch as a gin based drink, so if you like herbal spirits or amaros, this will make sense to you right away. It feels elevated but still easy to drink. If you love an spritz, the Original Aperitif is even more versatile and honestly more cost effective. Mixed with sparkling water it is bright and complex with a little citrus pop and a bitter finish that keeps it interesting. It has layers. Sweet at first, then herbal, then slightly savory. Definitely something I will be making on repeat once summer really hits. Ghia recommends kombucha which I will definitely be trying. Overall, Ghia feels intentional, well done, adult, and cool. If you are curious about non alcoholic options but still want something that feels adult and ritual worthy, this is a great place to start. I already know I will be stocking this all summer ☀️

  • I finally had to chance to try a Ghia Spritz, surprisingly at a gelato-cocktail shop in Hong Kong. It tasted better than I had expected, less bitter, less sweet and more refreshing than an Aperol spritz. It doesn't have the "artificial orange" taste that Aperol has, which I appreciate. Having said that, I'd only choose this (given the price) over an alcoholic drink if I really need to.
