The razor handle that comes as standard with the Dollar Shave Club starter kit has a much better build quality than I was expecting, which came as a nice surprise. The blades were okay, and did the job β€” I tend to shave once every three days. What I really like about DSC is the variety of products they have beyond just the blades themselves. Offering shower, aftershave, oral and skin care (plus more) makes it easy for guys who don't want too much fuss in that area to combine it all into one regular subscription.

The razors are fine and as someone who only shaves occasionally I'm happy with the twin blade (and I went to their manufacturer to order direct). But their other products are awesome. Their various hair creams and pomades are awesome. Shave butter is amazing. Aftershave moisturizer is the best. Good lipbalm. Great antiperspirant. Their soaps, face washes, shampoo and conditioner aren't for me but that's because I have oily hair and dry, acne prone skin.

I'm trying to buy fewer things mailed to my house (sustainability) so maybe a way to combine with other online purchases?

Honestly, they make great razors. Unfortunately, their other ancillary products like face wash and beard oil just aren't on the same level. And there is quite a bit of email and social upsell. Almost too much...

Feedback

Stick to focusing on making the razor ritual easier and less on cross-selling other lower quality products.

Signed up to stop paying too much for razors - and honestly, to get into one "system" and not have to find compatible razor heads / handles. I love that you can easily skip a delivery (which I do often) if you dont need as many. I'll have 4-8 razor heads stocked in my bathroom (1-2 packages).

I've tried DSC's razors and basics back in the day and always just found them okay. DSC's real play in the early days was just convenience and upselling Dorco razors on a subscription but they have truly grown into a whole suite of products since that I know some people have one or two items in the lineup that they love. For me though there are just products I prefer way more over DSC.

I opted into Dollar Shave Club (as a woman) because of how much cheaper it was than everything in the drugstore. Their products are simple, give a close shave for the legs, and are relatively inexpensive. I am still on a backlog of razors for the next few months given I don't have to shave as much as (most) men do.

Feedback

Their packaging comes with a little booklet which is cute but seems unnecessary. They are also very aggressive in their reminders to resubscribe but I guess that is their business model.

DSC was my intro into non-electric shaving, it's what I first used when I first started to shave with a regular blade rather than something electric. I used it through college and into my first year out. They have a good collection of products, my favorite include the deodorant wipes, the cologne, the repair serum, spa moisturizer. Similar to Harrys, the shave butter was awful. I used the 6 bladed razor and found that it wasn't as great as a shave as they claimed. Especially after going from DSC to a Supply razor. They have good products at a good price point, products I will be buying again but just not their razor or shave butter.

Love my Dollar Shave Club subscription. The razors are top of the line and I love the body washes (I recommend the amber and lavender). I've started using other products as well including the hair pomade and deodorant.
