Curology earns polarized reviews: many report clearer skin within weeks and praise the streamlined, prescription-based routine and gentle basics, while others see no improvement or worsening irritation, dryness, and breakouts. Reviews also cite customizable formulas and convenient onboarding as strengths but flag impersonal clinician rotation, questionable “customization,” over-frequent shipments, small or finicky packaging, and aggressive billing as drawbacks—useful context if deciding between Curology and an in-person dermatologist.

I used curology for years and i think it really helped my acne, especially the acne spot treatments. That what I bought and used the most. I do wish it was a bit cheaper or that places like Target that now sell it in store had the spot treatments on top of the cleansers and moisturizers.
I decided to try the starter kit, I think it was under $10 but I’m not positive. Let me start off by saying this is an awesome subscription service. You upload pictures of your face and explain what your current skin issues are and they add a prescription with a legit label with your name on it. You try it for some time and then they follow up with you. I found some of the products at target which is more convenient for me personally. Only cons are the shipping told a while and to it’s costly to have the subscription
First off, I'll say that brands like Curology are not for everyone, and definitely don't manage extreme cases of acne. I've been on Accutane four times in my life, so now I only deal with hormonal acne. It should be noted that if I still had severe cystic acne, this would absolutely not work for me. I started using Curology for the hormonal breakouts, and I've been really impressed by the results. The formula they made for me keeps me clear and manages the hormonal stuff. It's essentially the same ingredients I'd get from a dermatologist, but I don't have to deal with the hassle of going in, through insurance, all that. And the ingredients are already combined into a custom topical. Other than the topical product, their other offerings are just simple ingredients that work well together. I've repurchased and will continue to as long as it works for me! I think this product is an especially good fit for women who have been on Accutane or similar products in the past, and now just have the hormonal stuff that Accutane can't permanently fix.
Honestly, I didn't notice a huge difference. I tried Curology when I mostly had issues with texture - I wanted more glowy & moisturized skin. I don't think Curology was the right product for me to use, since they seem to be more focused on treating active acne. The limited steps in my skincare routine (just a custom formula + a cleanser and moisturizer) made it feel like my skin wasn't getting anything, and I didn't notice anything after a few months of use.

I didn't really enjoy the cream consistency of the formula, and I felt like I was tugging at my skin slightly when applying it. I wish the formula was more of a gel that felt hydrating on my skin.
It worked for the first few months however as someone with serious acne issues, it helped me to learn about my skin health and active ingredients that can make a difference. Since I have cystic hormonal acne, Curology sadly did not end up targeting the main issue. I've been taking oral medication after seeing a dermatologist and it made a big difference. Simplying and using drugstore products like LRP's Adapalene also works more for my Asian skin. I feel like the subscription is also expensive. However, if you feel inclined to try it is not terrible and would not damage your skin.
I tested it for a little while, and I didn't see much of a difference.
I used Curology when my insurance wasn't quiiiiiite good enough to warrant a trip to the dermatologist. Plus, it was pandemic time and I didn't want to go out if I didn't have to. Curology worked, sort of, but I didn't love hearing from a new clinician every time I needed an adjustment. When I got new insurance, I went back to the dermatologist, got different prescriptions, and my acne improved within weeks.
Really solid consumer experience! Quick & efficient. The community element was unique, unexpected, and blew me away. I ended up going into a see a dermatologist in person & they confirmed the prescription was pretty spot on.

I prefer using the different medications separately so that I can moderate the amounts, frequency, time of day. Ended up discontinuing use for more flexibility.
Personally, I like Curology. I have had positive results from using the products regularly. I like that they send you a somewhat customized formula based on your acne or skin condition complaints.
I like the mission of Curology and thought that the treatment product was excellent. That being said, the moisturizer and the cleanser are a little too basic
This brand saved my skin! It’s also cheap compared to the products I used to buy to fix my skin issues that didn’t work. Love it and hope to try more in the future
I have been using Curology since I was... maybe a sophomore in high school? I started to get really bad skin in high school that was incredibly difficult to manage. Many products that I had tried were basic drugstore options, but nothing really worked like Curology did. It also *really* helped that they give you a personalized provider who helps with any questions or concerns. I am still using Curology, today, at 20 years old-- and have also enjoyed their cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and lip balms!

Consider your budget on skincare-- this stuff can get pricey very quickly. I think it's worth it if it is at a reasonable price point.
It didnt make my skin worse but it also didnt give me any results really. My acne stayed the same when using this.
I've used curology for two years and it definitely helped me and my skin. I had pretty bad acne previously and looking at the before and after photos, there's a huge difference. I found it easy to create a formula and get started with the product and the ability to message the dermatologist was helpful. I have since stopped though as I could tell the formula wasn't doing as much for me anymore as there's only so much a topical can do (and I've since added spiro, which REALLY helped!)

It was a bit finicky to get an adjustment on a formula since you had to ask your PA/dermatologist to do so and you just kind of hope they see your before your next formula is set to ship. The auto-shipment is also super frustrating - I often had tons of my formula left but because you can only move out the next shipment a couple months in advance, the next one would always ship while I still had plenty of my current bottle. They hardly reminded me that a shipment was coming up and if you moved the date once already, they did not remind you again. The character limit with messages was also a bit frustrating.
I love Curology. I signed up for the free trial and I had a great experience. The formula is customized to one's needs and they can also send a sampe of their other products for free in the first month. I received sun screen, moisturizer, patches, face wahs, and body wash. It is the only product that has made my maskne dissipate. I decided to continue with the subscription, although only for the formula and not the other products. Costumer service is also amazing. I have recommended it to friends already!
Curology was such a simple and easy experience for me! It definitely took some purging and some time but it was so worth it. Once the formula started working, my acne cleared up so fast and has stayed clear ever since then with the exception of some straggling acne here and there. I will say the only thing that I do not like is how much product was sent every month. Especially when your formula needs to be changed or updated, the amount of formula that must be thrown feels so wasteful. I have found a formula that works for me now but they send product so much faster than I use it, that I canceled my subscription until I use up the 6 sets of products I have currently sitting in my cabinet. Overall, worth the money, but the amount of product is too much.

Like I mentioned above, definitely the wastage in product is something that should be changed. Also the shipments come way too fast, so it can become a hassle to remember to reschedule a shipment every few days.
This did clear my skin temporarily- I developed adult acne in my early twenties and could not seem to get clear skin. The prescription I received did work for a little yes than a year; than my acne returned.

Can be helpful for people who can’t afford a dermatologist visit. Keep an eye on your subscription; like all subscription services, you may end up with more bottles than you need.
Curology helped my acne some, but I feel that after awhile it was ineffective. It also began to get expensive, but it is still cheaper than medications a dermatologist might prescribe. It dried my face out in the beginning, but that's an expected side effect to keep in mind.
Feedback
Maybe a trial program before having to order a whole bottle.
Experience with their doctors is seamless, but frustrating when you suffer from hormonal acne. Felt like my skin plateaued and they didn't have the latest medications to offer.

I love this brand. I have been using curology for over a year and have noticeably clearer skin with way less breakouts. Consultation is also very convenient.

The custom formula is the best part of the routine so there's no need to pay for the cleanser or moisturiser when drug store brands are just as good.
