  • Gentle, fragrance-free formulations
  • Dermatologist-recommended reliability
  • Hydrating, barrier-supporting moisturizers
  • Effective acne-clearing cleansers
  • Occasionally heavy, filmy textures
  • Inconsistent results across skin types
  • Spf can irritate or feel oily
  • Some cleansers feel under-cleaning

CeraVe earns strong reviews as a dermatologist-recommended staple that works—especially for sensitive, dry, and acne‑prone skin—thanks to gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturizers that layer well under makeup and visibly hydrate and calm irritation. Weaknesses surface around texture and feel (some creams heavy or filmy, occasional greasiness or insufficient moisture), hit‑or‑miss results for certain skin types, mixed experiences with SPF formulas and actives causing irritation, and concerns about cruelty‑free status and select ingredients.

  • All of the creams I have used are very light, no scents (which I love), very easy to apply rapidly and does not leave any parts of the face white. Actually leaves skin very smooth.

  • The facial moisturizing cleanser and cream are the best from the range, good for dry sensitive skin. The best fragrance free and affected products in the market.

  • The face wash dried my face out to a point of irritation.

  • I've been using the salylic face wash for the past two months and I have to say it definitely does what it promises. Helping with old age acne while leaving my skin with moisture. I plan on incorporating their other products especially now since my skin is aging.

  • The cream is my holy grail moisturizer. I can’t be without it! It has helped clear up my eczema and maintaining my skin.

  • CeraVe is a great brand that is gentle, fragrance free, and contains essential nourishing ingredients that can help rescue skin and keep it hydrated. All of the products I have tried seem to be formulated well and I hope they continue to make more products. I do think some products could use improved directions like the cream to foam cleanser but overall this brand is a good/safe brand for sensitive skin.

  • I have been using the SA cleanser for years now and I love it. Very dependable products!!

  • cerave did not go well with me for my skin for some reasons. But I can honestly say that their gentle cleanser is amazing to skin really smoothen my skin and help my acne calm .

  • It's a solid brand that can work for anyone. It's just not a fun skincare brand! I don't really enough or have fun putting it on. To me skincare is self-care and CeraVe makes it boring and like a chore.

  • This is the only drug store moisturizer I recommend to patients. What else is there to say?

  • Love all the face washes for any type of skin.

  • Great cleanser for every day sensitive skin, no strong smell and nice texture

  • Cerave is a brand that contains ceramics which helps our skin barrier to heal, There creams are heavy. Personally, I use cerave to moisturize my body not my face because I feel like It's too much on my skin to the point it makes it feel itchy and allergic but for my body i think it is a perfect fit . • As someone who suffers from extremely sensitive skin, I love using CeraVe, I always have a bottle of daily moisturizer around the house for my entire family to use. Great product.

  • As far as cheap-end skincare products go, this brand is pretty good! I have gotten many of their products over the years and have never experienced any issues with them or irritation to my skin. I have nothing bad to say about them I just know there are more effective products out there otherwise this would be a 5/5!

  • I am obsessed with their sheer tint sunscreen. It is my go to everyday! I have been using it for years and it keeps my skin protected and so glowy. I can’t count how many tubes I’ve gone through!

  • I have the skin-renewing night cream in the purple jar and the AM facial moisturizing lotion with SPF 30. I use the night cream before applying Retin-A at night. It goes on feeling rich but doesn't leave my skin feeling smothered. Since using the Retin-A every night I've had to switch to a different day moisturizer because I was peeling, but if you don't use retinol or your skin is less sensitive I'd definitely recommend it. The AM facial moisturizing lotion with SPF 30 absorbs quickly and doesn't leave skin feeling greasy. It's a great product.

    Feedback

CeraVe is great quality, especially for a drugstore brand. If you're already using a prescription-strength retinol (like the one you get from a dermatologist) and deciding between a CeraVe moisturizer and something pricier from a prestige cosmetic brand, I'd go with the CeraVe.

  • I just bought the lotion today as I ran out. I like that it’s not super thick & feels soft. I use it when I get out of the shower.

  • I use the Cerave foaming cleanser and the daily moisturizer and it's been great for my skin. When it comes to the basic needs of skin care Cerave is a very trusted brand that has a variety of products for different skin needs.
