Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • I’ve seen this game advertised a lot as well . It definitely connects and brings together since you have to join together in order to play

  • Cards Against Humanity is a fun and entertaining party game that is not for everyone, but can be a hit with the right crowd!

  • It's a fun game...especially when you've had a few martinis.

    Feedback

Even once the game ends, it's inevitable that people will just sit around the table and read through the cards.

  • I love this game so much! It's always fun to play when hanging out with friends, or at (mostly adult) family gatherings. I really enjoy how where are expansion packs and even some aimed toward kids and families. We can play this for hours and never get bored or stop laughing. Highly recommend!

  • Great party game! However, I haven’t played it since I was in college.

Good product overall. It was the first of its kind once upon a time.

  • My experience with Cards Against Humanity was not very enjoyable. I found the game to be quite childish and the humor to be on a very low level. While some of the cards were clever or shocking at first, the shock value quickly wore off, leaving me feeling underwhelmed by the overall experience. While the game is marketed as a party game for adults, I found that the humor was more fitting for a middle schooler. The game relies heavily on offensive and vulgar jokes, which may appeal to some people but were not to my taste. Overall, I didn't have a great experience with Cards Against Humanity and would not recommend it to others who are looking for a more sophisticated or nuanced form of entertainment.

    Feedback

In terms of feedback for the game, I would suggest that the creators of Cards Against Humanity consider expanding the range of humor and content to appeal to a wider audience. While there is certainly a market for crude and offensive humor, there are also many people who would prefer a more subtle or intellectual form of humor. Additionally, the game could benefit from more variety in the types of cards that are included. While the shock value of some of the cards may be initially entertaining, it quickly becomes repetitive and tiresome. Including more creative or unexpected cards could help keep the game fresh and engaging over multiple plays. Finally, it's worth noting that the game's reliance on offensive humor could be a turnoff for many potential players. While some people may enjoy this type of humor, others may find it insensitive or even harmful. Including more diverse and inclusive content could help make the game more accessible and enjoyable for a wider range of people. Overall, while Cards Against Humanity may have its fans, I believe that there is room for improvement in terms of its humor and content. By expanding its range and inclusivity, the game could appeal to a wider audience and offer a more engaging and enjoyable experience for all players.

  • I love this game with a group of friends. We have this at the lake house and okay it every time. It might be more of an adult game the way we play, but it always gets a lot of laughs!

  • Cards against humanity is one of my groups favorite games to play when we’re all together. This game allows us all to find out a little bit more about each other and have fun at the same time.

  • Always fun, choose who you play with wisely... I played with my grandma and although it was hilarious, the cards are very raunchy...

Could create more up to date versions with pop culture

  • This game is lots of fun if you have a crowd of people that don't get offended easily. In fact the more offensive people are the more fun it is.

  • Holy s*** I have never had this much fun playing card games. At the same time, you really get to know everyone playing a long.

  • There are so many expansion packs, I love this game and it is highly requested at most parties I attend. Some of the cards are raunchier than I would like, but it’s still super fun to play.

I would advise them to have some sort of cultural sensitivity advisor on the team to make sure the game isn’t perpetuating any harm to marginalized communities or groups.

  • Tried with friends before purchasing for myself

Who doesn’t love a great somewhat dirty card game? I appreciate the fact that they have other packs available for those who make a regular habit of playing this game with friends. I think that is very smart and will keep them going. I literally remember being in college, unfortunately before this game existed, thinking there should be a more risqué apples to apples and then there was

  • Makes up for a fun game night. When playing it for the first time, it might take a while to get into the game vibe but once there, it’s definitely a fun game to play with your friends. Such a nice way to discover the different types of humor (dark, absurd, dry..) as well. :) Also love that the manual is written in the same absurd tone of voice as the game tries to convey.

  • It's been a while since I played Cards Against Humanity although let me tell you we had insane laughs. Probably some of my fun nights with friends include Cards Against Humanity. Now that my kids are older, it's even fun playing with them (although would not recommend for anyone until 14!).

  • Great game to play with a big group of people and the add-on packs make every game super fun.

  • So fun to plan on a night in!! 10/10 favorite card game to play
