They get the job done. I only have the original charcoal toothpaste bits, but I've loyally used them for a few years now. It's nice knowing I haven't thrown out a plastic toothpaste tube in years, and I really like the charcoal mint clean.

Feedback

Honestly, not much differentiation. Feels like Quip could strut in, copy the product, and that would be that.

It kills me to not be able to rate Bite higher, because I firmly believe the sector they’re trying to make more eco-friendly desperately needs it. From a packaging / waste perspective Bite is a five-star experience and the real deal. The packing is aesthetic and eco-friendly. I tried the floss and the mouthwash bites - the floss took some getting used to because it shreds way more than typical floss does, but once I learned the right tension, I actually liked it way better than normal floss because I felt like it cleaned more effectively (better friction). It’s little glass bottle is also adorable. The mouthwash bites have a nice taste and are super convenient for travel, but they need some work still (see below). Overall, I wasn’t sold enough to rebuy anything.

Feedback

The mouthwash bites are sold with a little metal container for throwing a few in your purse - great idea but useless in reality. If you live anywhere even remotely humid, the metal container will fail to protect the bites from moisture and once these get wet, they’re gross. Similarly, if any moisture gets in to the little jar of bites, this spider-web consistency substance takes over the jar (the first time this happened I screamed! 😫). Considering these products are stored in a bathroom where steam is normal, it feels unrealistic to not be able to expose them to any water. Finally, the cancellation process for subscription was a true nightmare. You can’t cancel easily via email, on mobile, or through a browser, you have to live chat someone from their team to cancel for you. Because of this, I actually lost an entire shipment of product because it was sent to an old address before I could successfully touch base with someone to update account info or cancel.

Love the concept and branding, but it's very different than standard toothpaste. Would still highly recommend!

It's too bad this doesn't have fluoride because I would use it all the time if that were the case. I love the sustainability and the product. It's great for travel, foams up nicely (I found the charcoal to be better at that).

Feedback

Ultimately I ended up relegating this to camping/travel because it doesn't have fluoride and that's a must for toothpaste for me.

I tried Bite in an effort to consume mindfully. Brand storytelling was well done, thus my purchase.

Feedback

My dentist strongly recommended against any toothpaste that doesn't contain fluoride. That advice, in addition to the fact that it didn't leave my teeth feeling clean deterred me from making a second purchase.

I do my best to cut down on single-use plastic, and personal care is a serious waste-generator. I don't love tossing those tubes of toothpaste - what's most important though is that I find an alternative that is as effective. I think Bite is very close. I primarily use Bite but do go back and forth because sometimes it just doesn't feel like I get as clean as I want to, or fresh. Overall, though, the packaging, branding and mission is on point and I love how they continue to develop new products and improve existing ones. I'd bet on Bite long-term to be a major challenger in the oral care world and I'm happy to be along for the ride.

I tried the whitening gel, which is the ideal format for anybody with aligners as you can wear the gel inside the aligners as long as you like. However, the % of carbamide peroxide seems too low to be effective on me and I found other brands to be more effective, especially when they had a combination of hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. Great format and idea though.

Gets the job done.

Feedback

Love the concept of this brand, and wanted to love the product but I did not find the flavor to be strong enough to keep bad breath away all day. Additionally, I didnt feel like it was getting plack off my teeth as aggressively as the other toothpastes that I love. Roommate feels the same way. I keep using it now and again when I know I will be brushing again mid-day. And toothpaste really needs to be disrupted, so much plastic, so I'm hoping improvements convert me to a real brand lover.

I like the toothpaste. I don't like conventional toothpaste because the foam is way too aggressive. Bite has a really subtle foam and slightly gritty texture that leave my teeth feeling clean.

Feedback

Flavor could be stronger. Would like more flavor options: clove.

The mint flavor of Bite's toothpaste bits is relatively mild, I'd prefer a stronger flavor, but it feels effective. My experience with Bite was generally good. I ordered their toothpaste bits once, then stopped to support a company I was working for that made a competitive product. THEN I switched to Boka because of their use of n-Ha (a non-toxic, biocompatible answer to fluoride) because I wasn't convinced my teeth were getting clean with natural toothpastes but I'm skeptical of fluoride. BUT I was sad about using plastic. I went back to the Bite site to find that they use n-Ha in their tooth tabs, which I'm pretty sure is a new thing because it's highlighted now. Ultimately, after time away experimenting with other things, I'm going back to Bite! Back when I first tried them, they didn't have the mouthwash bits yet either so I'm looking forward to trying those and I'm hoping I'll get a stronger mint flavor from those.

Feedback

As far as improvement, it really is just the flavor. I want something stronger.
