Reviews mention

  • Contoured footbed support
  • Long‑lasting construction
  • Iconic versatile styles
  • Adjustable strap fit
  • Painful break‑in period
  • Water‑sensitive cork sole
  • Inconsistent sizing width
  • Odor with summer sweat

BIRKENSTOCK earns strong reviews for comfort that improves as the contoured cork footbed molds to the foot and for durability that can span years, with icons like Arizona, Boston, Mayari, and EVA slides praised for everyday wear. Reviews also flag drawbacks: a painful break‑in for many, sizing confusion and wide fit, soles and cork that can crack or wear quickly (especially when wet), occasional odor and chafing in heat, and mixed experiences for flat or very high arches.

  • I bought a pair from Costco maybe eight years ago and they still look like new — if anything they’ve improved with time. Amazing quality, super comfortable, no notes.

  • High quality shoes that last for years

  • Maybe I am crazy, but I don’t think they’re comfortable. They always hurt my feet

  • These shoes may not be the most elegant, but they are incredibly comfortable. You can wear them all day without getting blisters or foot pain. What I don't understand is why there is such a price difference between Europe and the US. In the US, they are almost considered a luxury brand, while in Europe, you can find them at a grocery store for only 50 euros.

  • My husband struggles so much with his feet. He has a wide toe box and narrow heel. Doesn’t sound difficult to fit, but it is. We found the Birkenstock boots 3 years ago and he has worn them every single day since. Every single day. They still look perfect. They have been the single best shoe we’ve bought. Quality is unmatched.

  • I really like that these shoes can go with any outfit but my only complaint is how difficult they are to clean. I have sweaty feet and the shoes start tho turn black only after wearing them a few times. But other than that, they are pretty comfortable!

  • I have been a Birkenstock fan for years! I bought my first pair of sandals from them in 2021 and I was in love! I wore them every day during Spring and Fall seasons for two years. They were so comfortable and are good quality. My feet preferred these over the standard flip flop. Unfortunately I had to retire my sandals this year. However, I will definitely purchase from them again!

  • They are so comfortable, but if you wear them a lot the heels wear out quickly

  • The best ever. The quality. The comfort. And the customer service. Any pair of Birks will Last you a lifetime and the company itself has a stellar resole program. One thousand percent worth the money.

  • I love Birkenstocks they always look and feel great. Definitely a good investment.

  • My favorite shoe brand by far. I have many pairs and live in them year round

  • Never thought I would wear Birkenstocks, but damn they’re that comfortable. And currently stylish.

  • I’ve worn Birkenstocks for 20 plus years. My go to sandals every summer that I just wouldn’t be without. They are not the cheapest but worth it as they last for many years. Lots of colours to choose from so I now have a little collection to go with different outfits. They do take time to bed in, which may put alot of people off but once you’ve worn them in they are as comfy as your old faithful slippers 🥿

  • I have owned at least eight pairs of Birkenstocks over the years. At first, I just loved how they felt once broken in but now I have their indoor/outdoor slippers and their high top sneakers and I adore both. My feet are very messed up with bone spurs but my Birkenstocks save them because they provide the support needed to make walking much more comfortable. They have also moved into far more fashionable styles beyond just sandals. They are comfortable to a fault, last forever plus can be reshod. They are great for flat feet, fallen arches and feet like mine. They’ve also been around forever and have an excellent reputation. I will always recommend them. Oh, and the slippers? At first I thought they were too small and too unyielding. I didn’t want to wear them and barely did. Then suddenly one day they broke in and now are my favorites. Easy to slip on, look nice, and insanely comfortable. Definitely give them a try but if you have foot problems, ask your podiatrist first. They really do hit on all levels.

  • This is just one of those brands that I'll always buy - no matter the price, no matter the style, etc. Elder-millennialhood is not kind to some of us, espcially on the knees and feet. Birkenstock is one of the brands I can always count on for support and comfort without feeling like a fossil.

  • I do have a few: classic and plastic sandals, boots, and shoes. I love how comfortable they are after getting broken in. Very reliable.

  • Bought my Berks while on vacation. I have planters fasciitis and was were flip flops that were causing a lot of pain. I walked out of the store wearing my Berks and had immediate relief from the pain. They are my go to shoes for casual and especially summer. Quality materials, holds up with long wear, and love the colors.

  • I have friends that have gotten off brand look alikes and they always regret not getting the real thing. Birkenstocks last FOREVER no matter what kind you purchase. I have clogs and many sandals and I love each pair. My oldest pair is 12 years old and still going strong.
