It took a little finagling to get mine up and running but now that I charge it every other night and have it in a sunny location, I'm getting wonderful and entertaining photos and video of my backyard birds. I have loved identifying birds since childhood and I know most of the species in my back yard. But, I'm pleasantly surprised how much I am enjoying the feeder and the postcards that pop up on my phone as I have visitors.

Overall very happy with the bird buddy

This thing is a waste of money. Set up and connectivity work ok at first, but once the camera looses connectivity (goes to sleep) there's no way to get it back up to connect to wifi and/or bluetooth and work. Plus: all useful features are behind a subscription paywall. Customer service is bad, hundreds of pages of troubleshooting advice are not helpful but indicative of plentiful problems. Stay clear of this device. Don't buy !!!

I'm enjoying this product a lot. Many of the glitches at the beginning have been corrected and things get better and better!

My wife and I appreciated receiving Bird Buddy in its infancy on Kickstarter, from our children. We love the BB experience. Improvements are needed in navigating the App.

Received this as a gift and I must say I absolutely love it! Seeing the birds up close is amazing and makes me so incredibly happy! I look forward to receiving notifications throughout my day and taking a few moments to delight in the photos and videos. The app has room for improvement but overall 10/10.

I was so excited about this at first that I ordered a second one. Three weeks in both of my cameras had problems. I did everything they told me to do to try and fix the problems to no avail. I now have two very expensive feeders that do not take a single picture. Would not recommend!!!

I have delighted in the new information on all the birds in my yard! I currently have 3 and have purchased two more for gifts!

I live in the forested area and have had bird feeders for years. I received this as a gift and thought it would be cool so was excited to try it. I know many of the birds that regularly visit my feeders. For example, the most frequent visitor is chickadees year-round, however it can't detect one. The feeder has a flawed design,, and the perch is designed wrong and is a flat surface, unlike a bird claw, so a chickadee or sparrow has to sit inside the feed itself and doesn't even make it up to the height to be pictured. Though I frequently see Blue Jays, Gold Finch, chickadees, grosbeek and Cardinals, in my regular feeder, they never show up making me think they can't use this flat perch either. So much so, that I hardly bother to charge it, as I don't need 42 pictures of a red squirrel everyday don't get me wrong. I like squirrels, but not only squirrels. LOL

What an incredible product! A great way to engage with our local environment! I hope this practice continues to evolve!

Being able to view the birds up close makes identifying their markings so much easier in order to correctly name a species!

Very smooth experience: setup was good, tips were helpful to get started, and app experience has been good for the first week. Birds are already visiting my feeder and the entire experience has been positive and fun for my whole family.

Love my Bird Buddy!! I really enjoy seeing new visitors at the feeder and getting some information on their species. It’s really cool to be able to watch them up close!

Well. Dismayed to say that I am disappointed in bird buddy from a bird detecting and recording perspective. The camera has not picked up on multiple visits from birds that tend to be quick on the seed retrieval such as chickadees, Bushtits, and blue jays. I have seen firsthand that these birds have visited the feeder multiple times, but Bird Buddy has not recorded it. My review is a three because for the birds that DO hang out for several minutes, the camera had produced good videos and images. The ID has been ok. In my opinion, the ID needs improvement and can be better prepared I’m advance based on client region. Expected backyard birds should be easily determined and confirmed.

Looks great - but is one of the most disappointing things I ordered over the last years. Bought for my girlfriend for christmas, it took more than two years to arrive and after we changed phones, we dont get it back to work. I have no more motivation, it only is an expensive feeder without camera now. Sitting at the window and look at the birdies ist much cheaper and leaves me very happy!

I’ve had this item on my wishlist for a while and my husband surprised me with it. It’s a gift for the whole family honestly. We have a ton of bird activity in our big yard and now we get happy updates almost daily. It’s a great alert to get on my phone amongst all of the other more stressful alerts. The picture quality is great, the whole system is simple to set up and use and the recommendations for food to choose (to avoid squirrels, especially!) were helpful.

Love looking at the different types of birds which are in my yard. The pictures (most of the time, hard to capture moving birds) are so vibrant and clear.

Giant piece of crap that has never worked. We can access the camera remotely and we know there are thousands of birds but zero videos. Even worse Bird Buddy offers no help and no refund. Do not buy.
