Bird Buddy offers a smart bird feeder connected to a mobile app to notify you of bird visitors and capture their photos.
4.1
Bird Buddy delights many reviewers with crisp photos, engaging video “postcards,” and an elegant, well-designed feeder-camera system that helps identify species and brings backyard birdlife up close. Reviews also flag persistent weaknesses: short battery life without the Solar Roof, finicky setup and pairing (especially with some mesh networks), clunky app flows, sporadic missed captures, and inconsistent or slow support; when it works, it’s magical, but reliability and ergonomics vary widely.

Got this for my retired father. He LoVES it. He’s not tech savvy at all, but it was super easy to set up on his tablet and teach him to use. Recommend mounting on a pole to avoid squirrels taking over. Purchased some of the extra feeder pieces ( hummingbird feeder, suet ball feeder) and he gets a great variety of birds . Great product!
So much action it is overwhelming, in a good way! Great for the bird lover in your life. We have had some trouble with it staying synced and have had to repair it and contact support for assistance. The photos and videos are so fun!
Ok I don’t mean to be dramatic but this thing is so dang fun. It’s irresistible to check and see the new bird species it logs and playing with the app. It makes an amazing gift!
I love my bird buddy! It's been a big hit with the whole family. It's so much fun to look out the window and see the birds all fighting for a spot on the feeder, and the camera has taken some great photos and videos of several different bird species.
Feedback
The only thing I don't like is the way the app delivers you the photos, you have to click through a few steps to look at and keep and delete photos, it takes way too long when you have dozens of birds visit the feeder every day.
What is Bird Buddy?
Bird Buddy offers a smart bird feeder connected to a mobile app to notify you of bird visitors and capture their photos.
In their own words
A smart Bird Feeder that notifies users whenever a bird stops by, sending a notification via the app. The built-in technology allows our users to capture beautiful photos and video clips of the bird whilst the app gamifies the experience by recognizing birds, currently over 1000 species, and organizing them in a “Pokémon GO like” collection. The feeder unit also notifies our users when bird seed levels are running low, is WiFi enabled and has an optional solar panel. Our users can also switch between units and streams, sharing their photos and videos with other users. Our users receive happy notifications allowing them to connect with nature from anywhere. You are in control as the photographer, curator of your collection, author of your own work. Our app transforms passive bird feeding to an interactive hobby that has multiple experiences: Community - explore photos taken by others Education - learn about each newly unlocked species Fun - see intruders and quizzical bird expressions. In addition, our users can explore birds beyond their backyard by connecting with our network global feeders.
