Bird Buddy offers a smart bird feeder connected to a mobile app to notify you of bird visitors and capture their photos. 

A smart Bird Feeder that notifies users whenever a bird stops by, sending a notification via the app. The built-in technology allows our users to capture beautiful photos and video clips of the bird whilst the app gamifies the experience by recognizing birds, currently over 1000 species, and organizing them in a “Pokémon GO like” collection. The feeder unit also notifies our users when bird seed levels are running low, is WiFi enabled and has an optional solar panel. Our users can also switch between units and streams, sharing their photos and videos with other users.

Our users receive happy notifications allowing them to connect with nature from anywhere. You are in control as the photographer, curator of your collection, author of your own work. Our app transforms passive bird feeding to an interactive hobby that has multiple experiences:

Bird Buddy is a feeder with integrated camera that provides a close-up view of birds in your backyard, which users find enjoyable and interesting. Its strong points include high-quality photos and videos, accurate bird species identification, and the ability to share and connect with others. However, there are some issues with the product. Some users reported difficulties in setting up the device, particularly with pairing the feeder to their phones via Bluetooth. There are also complaints about the feeder design being unattractive to birds and the lack of a conventional perch space. Additionally, the company's customer service is said to be unresponsive and difficult to reach.

Ok I don’t mean to be dramatic but this thing is so dang fun. It’s irresistible to check and see the new bird species it logs and playing with the app. It makes an amazing gift!

Got it for my kids, but got so excited myself after we installed it! It’s true that the birds don’t start coming instantly, it took us a few days and moving the feeder a few times before we started to get visitors. Maybe because of the design of the perch, but in our case the birds actually started coming once we took it off the tree and put it on the ground near the bushes. Anyway, the pictures are cute and it accurately identifies the species, so we’re enjoying the experience so far.

Learned so many bird names - great photos and it identifies species!  Had no idea there was more than one kind of Sparrow!

It’s so much fun to see close-up videos and photos of the birds in our yard who visit the feeder!

The Bird Buddy is really a cool, innovative birdhouse. Seeing what birds live around my house has been really enjoying! I like that you will never miss a visitor, as you can get notifications. The camera will identify the bird (or squirrel, ugh!), and take pics and a short video - with sound! You can decide what you want to keep. Note that to watch the BB *live* will quickly drain the battery of the camera. I didn't know this prior to getting BB as a gift. I wanted to have it displayed on my laptop, but cannot do that if I want the camera to last a while. You also must have a good reception to your wifi outside in order for any of it to work, otherwise, it will become just a birdfeeder. The insertion of seeds is awkward, and the suet ball broke the first week I hung it. Overall, it's a great product, but definitely has room for improvement.

I love what the unit provides in comparison to what it says it will do. Pictures are awesome, some of the videos are hilarious and I have been very happy with the results that I get. The app shows continual improvement from its beginning version. I have three minor annoyances. One, the business side needs improvement. I think I have set myself up to get a hummingbird feeder when it comes out, but truly don’t know without calling. Two, plugging in the USB cable from the solar charger is a real pain, as you have to insert the camera first, and then use two fingers to get the USB plugged in. Not easy, especially when it’s 10 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be better if you could plug the USB cord into the camera and then insert the camera. Three, the plastic “hinges” on the door in the back have broken. Some redesign needed there, I think. Overall, I’ve truly enjoyed the pics I get and am glad my wife bought in during the “kickstart days”.

Setup was easy, but you have to be ready to hang it when you go through the process - you can’t get the WiFi strength meter back unless you reset it. I’m glad we have strong WiFi so we could hang it where we wanted to. 

We had birds show up within a day, which surprised us. They now hang out all the time, which is fun for all of us. We love checking out the postcards and seeing new poses or interactions between birds, and reading their expressions. The app works great and is full of fun animations and interactions. 

This is a very fun product which I was glad to receive as a birthday gift. 

Set up was very easy. Product it’s self if well made and has been reliable. Has increased our whole family’s interest in our backyard birds and has inspired us to increase our plant diversity to attract new/more birds.
