Away earns strong reviews for durable, lightweight polycarbonate and aluminum luggage that glides smoothly, packs efficiently with compression panels and a laundry bag, and is backed by responsive, often generous warranty service; however, reviews also flag easy exterior scuffing/dents, occasional zipper/handle/wheel issues, divisive or cumbersome battery compartments, and ubiquity that causes bag mix-ups. Overall, Away is good and works well for frequent travel, but buyers should expect cosmetic wear and consider darker colors or covers.

My favorite luggage. Luxurious but also durable. I have had my small carryon for five years and I imagine having it for a long time. I also recently got the larger checked bag and I am obsessed. The most chic travel accessory.

I have had my Away luggage for almost 2 years and have taken it on many vacations and love it. It does get a little but scuffed over time, but using a Magic Eraser takes almost everything right off! The compression pad does make it a bit tough to zip when the suitcase is over filled, however I love the the interior org options and lightweight design.

Had for a few years. Works perfectly, but could be a bit more lightweight.

The sleek aesthetic and simple, uncomplicated design make it feel calmer while you travel. Switching to the clamshell suitcase design takes an adjustment, but it's perfect for packing cube perfectionists like myself. I know exactly where everything is if I ever have to pull anything out of my suitcase at the last minute. I bought mine a few years ago, and despite the scuff marks, it still feels organized and luxe. It's a little bit on the expensive side, but the fact they have a lifetime warranty helps.

Absolutely love these luggages, the price is great and the features are fun including a built in scale and locks on the actual luggage. I love how sleek and stylish they look and the color options. Feels sturdy and well built. Glides very smoothly and had many great compartments. We own a carry on, a large check in and the weekender.

I’ve had the away large carry-on since 2020. I love it. It’s fits a lot of things. And the performance fabric is easy to clean.

Love the hand painted monogram option. Very lightweight and durable. Target has a dupe that performs just as well, but away is classic trustworthy brand.

i do not think the quality of these products matches up to the cost. I had previously had a pink carry on bag from away and had to return it as after only one time using it, it was completely dinged up and partially broken. again, only one use for a four day trip. i don't think the value is there, despite the sleek/minimal look. pretty to look at, not but really to use. the return was very easy though.

Had my Away bag for at least 3 years and it's still in good condition. I like mine.

I have the AWAY Carry-On and I love it! I’ve been using it for about 2 years and still looks like new. I travel at least once a month and always take it with me. It wheels through the airport with ease. It’s easy to pack, with a zip compartment, divider, it includes a laundry bag, charging pack under the handle, and universal plugs. I will say the charger pack is removable but can be a bit annoying if asked to check a bag because you have to take it with you on the plane. I love it and it has everything I need to for my travels!

I am SO UNimpressed with my Away Carry-On Flex. Note to self: never buy anything that social media "influencers" sell again. I knew it wouldn't be worth the hype but I wanted a nice, new carryon (that wasn't $80 but also not $600) and a quick search landed me on Away. First use experience: 1) when half full (about 10 pounds), the suitcase is a dream! It rolls on all 4 wheels very smoothly, the handle is quite sturdy. 2) when expanded and full (about 25 pounds), it would barely roll on all 4 wheels on low, hotel carpet. I had to pull it like the old fashioned suitcases (behind me) or it would wobble and it even fell once! I mean, where else are you going to take this thing? Even on smooth, epoxy airport floors, it would not roll smoothly on all 4 wheels - making it hard to control. Also, the handle was very wobbly when the bag was full. So, I checked my carryon bag (I didn't feel like schlepping this uncontrollable thing in crowded IAH and SFO.) Away no longer has try and return. They say that you should try it around your house to decide whether or not to keep it. I figured, all these great reviews, how bad can it be? UGH!!!! Bottom line: go cheaper and buy a new one every few years or go pricier and get a carryon that you can actually use as a carryon that will glide well when it's more than 1/2 full. I would say that this is perfectly comparable to the $80 Delsey carryon I got at Ross.

What can i say… Love! Have it in multiple colors as I’ve bought for my kids. It expands nicely, rolls smoothly and I haven’t had any problems traveling through Europe where the bigger carryon can be an issue.

I'm a ride or die Away fan, but that's more because I'm obsessed with the appearance than anything. I've had my Aluminum luggage set for a couple years now (I got them when they first released the aluminum series), and I can say that I love it. PROS - Amazing customer service: It didn't happen to my bag, but someone I know had a bag that got dented in a way that prevented the suitcase from fully sealing properly when closed. Away honored their lifetime warranty and sent her a brand new suitcase (which seemed to have reinforcement now where the problem arose). - The wheels are butter. The handle bar is sturdy enough where you don't have to push the suitcase itself much. Rolling my away suitcase and then rolling my delsey (tbf my away has about 4 years on her) bag, the difference of rolling the two bags was night and day. - I talk about how I think the battery is pretty useless BUT THE CHARGER!!! THE CHARGER SHE COMES WITH!!! (once again, I'd like to reiterate, she's nothing special and you could probably buy a banger charger for the price difference BUT) the mesh charger bag that the international plugs came in is actually one of the best things ever. I use that pouch like it's my emotional support animal and probably use it on every trip, even when I'm not using my suitcase. The cube is also great, and she's probably the thing I use the most out of all my away products. The micro usb charger it came with isn't great, but it's probably different from the one they had when I bought my bag - The laundry bags are great because I forget to pack laundry bags all the time. Also the feeling of packing upstairs, realizing I need to go down to get a laundry bag, and then realizing that I don't because my away bag has the laundry bag is one of the few joys I get when packing CONS - Another drawback is how fragile the suitcase itself is, but that too is not so cut and dry. It's to be expected that aluminum suitcases get banged up. The sky is blue, your aluminum suitcase goes through the trenches every time you part with it at the airport. However, I'm not sure if this just an aluminum suitcase thing in general or away's aluminum suitcase but I find that the outer material scratches very easily, and I'm not just referring to shallow scratches when light hits the suitcase a certain way. I'm talking deeper than JerryRigEverything deeper grooves benchmark. THAT BEING SAID!!! the customer service makes up for all of it. (expanded on in the PROS section) - I will say the charger is really a bit of a gimmick, and I only thought it was cool because, well, it's a gimmick. Especially now that they charge extra to get one, I'd say that it's not necessary because I found myself taking the charger out and using it more than I had it in the suitcase. Just get a designated portable battery because it's probably more energy efficient and better for your phone battery - once again, another aluminum bag drawback in general, not an away thing, but HOLY COW SHE'S HEAV Y. always fighting for my life when I travel alone 🫡 - While I do understand that it's worth the money, she's at an awkward price point between standard suitcases/luggage and Rimowa. I would say that Rimowa does slightly outshine Away, but I think she's a good mix of both. However, sometimes it feels like their pricing could use a bit of humbling. - I have the mini amenities pouch that they sold a while back on their own. I have the aluminum one to match my bags bc ofc I do, but she's a bit annoying to deal with just because of the fabric gets caught between the lids

I love my carry-on suitcase. I've beat it up over the last five-ish? years and it's withstood everything. Casters still work beautifully, it's the perfect size, and I can keep everything in place.

I have the bigger carry on flex and this is the best luggage. I love that it can expand, it’s easy to carry and I love the two compartments. It’s also really easy to clean with the inside zipping completely off.

Over all I am happy with my Away bags. They hold up well while traveling. My biggest issue is they are a bit difficult to stack inside each other to put away. Very happy with how it has keep up with my traveling over the years even if I am not the most prolific traveler.

I always thought a luxury suit case was a joke and something exclusive to influencers. I had always used budget suit cases and bags. On a whim I bought a bag for Black Friday and my traveling experience was transformed. I can’t believe how smooth this bag moves! It keeps up with me when I’m running through the airport and is durable. Especially as someone who travels each week! My only fault would be that it does get scuffed and show a lot if you get a vanity color. It does easily come off with a magic eraser which they provide!

I have purchased 8 suitcases from away in the last 3 years. The very first one I purchased, an original carry-on has a handle that no longer retracts. I called to inquire because they claim to offer a lifetime warranty... but let me tell you.... You will have to take photos, videos, etc... to "prove" that the handle no longer retracts... because you know.. I have nothing better to do than collecting $3 handle repair kits that they send you. It's not like I'm trying to con them out of a new suitcase. But talking to others on different forum, that's the tactic, make it so difficult so that people will just give up and purchase another suitcase. Away Travel suitcase are obvioulsy nice - I wouldn't have purchased 8 of them in 3 years if they weren't. And I am not stupid enough not to know that even well made stuff sometime break. BUT, you judge a company by their ability to serve their customers when things go wrong. Amazon, doesn't 2 question you when you want to make a return. Apple doesn't two question you when you have an issue either, they even sometimes fix thing out of warranty at not cost. Away Travel? not so much. That's why I won't buy from them anymore. Are they trying to limit people from failing false claims, maybe. But the majority of people don't so that. A small percentage might but that's the price of doing business. You can't punish 100 people because 1 may abuse the system. Anyway, I am done ranting. It's just really disappointing. So, to sum it up. Away Travel suitcases are great, just make sure they don't ever have an issue.

Picked up one of the Outdoor Duffel bags a few months ago, great for short stays. Great capacity.

I was just telling someone that I've had my Away bag for over 5 years and it's still going strong. No broken parts, nothing but some scratches on the corners. These bags are a great investment.
