Reviews mention

  • Sleek minimalist aesthetic design
  • Lightweight hard-shell construction
  • Smooth-rolling 360° wheels
  • Thoughtful interior compression system
  • Easily scuffed exterior surfaces
  • Occasional wobbly telescoping handle
  • Inconsistent zipper or mesh durability
  • Heavier, dent-prone aluminum shell

Away earns strong reviews for durable, lightweight polycarbonate and aluminum luggage that glides smoothly, packs efficiently with compression panels and a laundry bag, and is backed by responsive, often generous warranty service; however, reviews also flag easy exterior scuffing/dents, occasional zipper/handle/wheel issues, divisive or cumbersome battery compartments, and ubiquity that causes bag mix-ups. Overall, Away is good and works well for frequent travel, but buyers should expect cosmetic wear and consider darker colors or covers.

  • Purchased the aluminum check in bag and it’s been my trusty travel go-to!

  • I love the durability of the products and the charging capability as well as universal outlet converters. The wheels are very smooth too. They’re a bit expensive, so if the charging feature isn’t necessary, you could easily find something very similar at Target.

  • I was bought one of these for my birthday and it’s the best case I have ever had! Love the built in ‘grubby gear’ bag as well as the two separate sides which hold everything in just the right place. The quality of the case is great and feels solid. It also has moved really well and the wheels feel nice without sticking . I also have the packing cubes which for perfectly, so would recommend if you like to separate everything out.

  • I will be honest and say that I haven't taken my Away suitcase through an airport yet, but you know why I am comfortable giving it 5 out 5 stars? Because of their warranty. So last year I bought a hardsided suitcase from another store. It said it came with a 10 year warranty, so I assumed all was good. Fast forward to a year later when I have used it to travel numerous places, and the wheel area breaks inward. No biggie, right? I will just utilize that warranty! Except, imagine my surprise when I went to see what I needed to do to get it fixed and found it that it was only for manufacturing defects. Not your suitcase breaking after only a few trips. We all know the airlines throw bags as they are loading and unloading them. There's no changing that. But having a warranty doesn't really matter if it doesn't cover when the item breaks. That's why when I went looking to buy a new suitcase, I read every warranty page. And only Away had a warranty that covered "any functional damage to the shell, wheels, handles, zippers, or anything else that impairs your use of the luggage." They tell you that "[i]f anything breaks, we will provide a repair kit or replacement." That's what sold it for me. I want to be reassured that no matter what happens to my suitcase, I know that it will be fixed. Especially when you're spending the kind of money that suitcases cost at Away and other similar brands. So if you want a suitcase that you know for a fact will last for years no matter what, then Away is your best choice.

  • I've had my away suitcase for almost 5 years now. It's still going strong! I can stuff so much into it. It's so reliable. I don't have to handle it with delicacy and I can pack so much in there!

  • I’ve had my pink Away carry on for 4-5 years and it has stood the test of time! It’s been all over the world, and cleans up easily with the included sponge (or magic eraser) and the accessory kit included with it has stayed inside ready for any adventure! Durable, easy to wheel, and the built in/removable mobile charger is still one of the coolest features ever!

  • bought a carry-on. love how light the luggage itself is. super smooth wheeling

  • I used to love my away luggage but now that they’ve seen a few years of trips they look absolutely awful. I am going to get new luggage soon and I won’t be going back to them.

  • I have had this suitcase for years now, and it continues to hold up. I was nervous the pink color would look dirty after one use, but it has gone through many flights as a carry on and checked bag, and while it has scuffs, I do not mind them. It fits a ton, the straps and mesh sections keep everything in place, and the charger is so helpful. Also love that the suitcases have a lifetime warranty, so if they break (which may be a long time from now), I can get it repaired or replaced.

  • I love my away backpack for work travel because it’s both functional and beautiful. I have not had any trouble with any products purchased; very pleased.

  • Bags are made really well, love their lifetime warranty, truly cannot be that out.

  • I’ll admit, I was a little bit skeptical when it came to spending a decent amount of money on my luggage. But after purchasing my Away bags, I have to say it was absolutely worth the investment. I have never previously owned another suitcase that has this level of quality, durability, and also looks like a piece of luxury. I’ve owned and traveled around with Away for the past couple of years, and it has maintained its structure, with minimal wear and tear. The first bag I purchased was white, so my only complaint is that scuff marks show up a lot easier on that color. But it comes with a scuff eraser that helps bring it back to its original beauty. So that was greatly appreciated. My goal when purchasing a quality piece of luggage was that it would be an investment worth making. Away surpassed my expectations by far. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

  • I love my away bag. It has held up great after bringing on multiple trips, getting checked, dropped, etc. I love my pink color and the battery has been super convenient as well.

  • Incredible, eye catching look and very sturdy. I wish they made a single side open suitcase.

  • I have three suitcases from away. Got all of them as gifts and I truly love them all! I love the portable chargers in the carry ons, the wheely bags, the shoe bags that easily tuck away, and the LOCKS! Although I've had some difficulty traveling internationally with the lock bags. I also got the packing cubes that match my bag and packing cubes truly are a game changer. Might be a bit overpriced, you're def paying for the brand, but I also think the quality is there to justify it!

  • Great suitcases, definitely expensive but includes lots of small features that make a huge difference. They roll well and feel super sleek when traveling. Would recommend.

  • Amazing luggage that is durable. The company really thought through the design with it being very light weight, maximized space, intentional pockets, secure lock and a portable charger that can be taken out easily. The design is also really nice and the brand is recognizable when you're travelling and you see others with the bag. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because it is pricey and totally an investment. I'm not sure if this is a sustainable brand either.

  • I have three hard suitcases and two soft weekend bags from Away, and I love the thoughtfulness of the product design. I use the weekend bags as carry-on or road trip bags, and if you’re a packing cube / pouch girlie like me, you’ll fit everything you need and tons of stuff you don’t. One note— I don’t use the smallest carry-on suitcase very often since getting the weekend bags. I’m just going to chalk that up to preference!
