Reviews mention

  • Sleek minimalist aesthetic design
  • Lightweight hard-shell construction
  • Smooth-rolling 360° wheels
  • Thoughtful interior compression system
  • Easily scuffed exterior surfaces
  • Occasional wobbly telescoping handle
  • Inconsistent zipper or mesh durability
  • Heavier, dent-prone aluminum shell

Away earns strong reviews for durable, lightweight polycarbonate and aluminum luggage that glides smoothly, packs efficiently with compression panels and a laundry bag, and is backed by responsive, often generous warranty service; however, reviews also flag easy exterior scuffing/dents, occasional zipper/handle/wheel issues, divisive or cumbersome battery compartments, and ubiquity that causes bag mix-ups. Overall, Away is good and works well for frequent travel, but buyers should expect cosmetic wear and consider darker colors or covers.

  • I have a dark green soft-sided carry-on & I could not love it more, I got it on sale so the price was right. Definitely wait for the annual sale if price is an issue for you too - some great deals there. It just feels nice, it looks nice, it, you know, works to hold my clothes & stuff.

  • I've used the bigger carry on for a number of years now and over several trips and it hasn't disappointed. The hard shell is protective and makes for a lighter carry. The inside compartments help hold everything in place and I love the foldable bag it comes with to store dirty clothes to be sorted away over the course of the trip. The wheels move really well and I find it incredibly easy to roll around with me when travelling. The only thing is that the outer shell does get scratched easily, but because it's a carry on, I've only ever had to check it in once. One zipper handle also recently broke off, but that was due to some mishandling by airport staff, which I'm sure could be replaced if I visited the store.

  • Suitcase is super functional and I appreciate the minimal design, but when it’s full the wheels don’t roll very well which can get annoying.

  • Away has been a trusty companion on my travels, offering sleek designs and practical features that make jet-setting a breeze. The durability of their luggage has impressed me time and again, surviving the rigors of airport handling with ease. The built-in charger is a game-changer, ensuring that my devices stay powered up throughout my journey. However, I've encountered a couple of minor hiccups, like the occasional difficulty with the zipper and the handle feeling a bit wobbly at times. Despite these minor issues, Away has consistently proven itself as a reliable travel companion that adds style and convenience to my adventures.

  • I love my Away luggage! I have a carry on and large suitcase and love both. I travel a lot, so they get a lot of use, and they hold up really nicely! They come with laundry bags and cleaning sponges in them, which are great. Great quality and nice look!

  • Nothing but good things to say! My suitcase has held up after years of travel, including all of my frequent business travels in the past year. I've lived out of my larger carry-on for up to 3 weeks at a time.

  • I know they’re pricey but you can’t go wrong with the ease of packing, carrying around their luggage while traveling and amazing warranty

  • Product is positioned just right. The case sizes and collections are pretty good for individuals and families. The overhead friendly sizes are perfect for fast convenient travel, although neither will pass the European carry on standards. I have one issue with the lock being damaged in transit that I need to discuss with customer service to see what they recommend. Over all - happy with my 3 case collection!

  • Love the flex bigger carryon; it’s light, super mobile, and very cute. What I don’t love about it; though, is the lack of internal compartments. I like to stay organized, and without packing cubes all of my stuff ends up all over the place in this carryon.

  • Love their suitcases, easy design. I have 5-6 of them however some of them need some QC work as zippers broke, etc but their warranty is really nice so I was able to get it replaced.

  • Best luggage brand for the price. I have had my carry on luggage for 4 years now and it still is in perfect condition. Pricing is fair compared to other luxury suitcases brands on the market. Also if anything happens to your suitcase in terms of breakage you can bring it to the store and they will most likely fix it for you!

  • If you're a frequent traveler, worth the price point. You'll be able to fit more in this bag than you think. The one I have fits in every overhead compartment - and doesn't seem to be breaking anytime soon

  • Bought the larger sized carry on in late 2019 after returning a Rimowa Cabin Plus (buyers remorse that slowly morphed into return-regret). Thought the painted monogram was a cool idea and paid up for that and was happy with the result. Unfortunately after returning to travel post pandemic the case started deteriorating quickly (handle got flimsy, wheels got shakier). Odd occurrence considering it was just sitting dormant in my home. Bought a Rimowa to replace it in 2021, haven't looked back. One thing I do miss: the zipper enclosure. Feels less prone to failure than Rimowa's locks.

  • Love my away bag! I’ve got one large suitcase and the garment bag insert. Waiting for my carry on to fail so I can buy another away bag to replace it!

  • Beautiful, high quality travel systems. I've traveled the world with my hard shell suitcase and it is still in fantastic condition.

  • I have had my away bag for almost 7 years. I travel typically every week or every other for work and my away bag accompanies me each and every time. I am able to rely on it knowing it is going to perform. I have given several bags as gifts and have always heard the best comments. I love away!

  • The Away has been my main and favorite suitcase for the past 5 years and I love it! I find that the combination of price point, functionality, and style is perfect -- it's pricier than your Costco suitcase, for example, but the colors and style make it fun to use, and the double compartments + zipper + flap to help condense items works super well. I love that there's a larger carry-on size, because it really allows me to be able to squeeze much longer trips into just one carry-on suitcase. For example, I did a 5 week travel from Atlanta, to Spain, to Switzerland, to France all in one carry-on, and was able to fit outfits for ~5 very different climates. I've also compared this suitcase against much more expensive versions (like the non-aluminum Rimowas) and found that they were extremely similar in how they looked, felt, and worked. Only upgrade on the Rimowa is it rolls better, but I don't think it's hundreds of dollars better. My boyfriend also broke the wheel on one of his Away suit cases (or more specifically, United broke it the one time he checked the bag), and Away quickly sent him a new one once he showed proof of the damage, so they also do carry through on their lifetime warranty!

  • I have had one suitcase the bigger carry on for 5+ years with a lot of travel and it’s still holding up great. Also their return process is very generous. I bought one of the metal check in bags before a big trip, I ended up not liking it and they took it back so easy at on if their stores and gave me a full refund!
