  • I ordered brainstorm and nightcap and sadly I had a pretty bad experience. The chocolate tasted chalky and then I looked at the ingredients to see that it's semi-sweet dark chocolate, which is like... baking chocolate? I took one square of the focus one and my heart started to race. I felt pretty crazy and really light headed. It was so unenjoyable I didn't even finish the pack. The sleep one also tasted chalky and dry and didn't work. I feel really disappointed because the reviews on the website look amazing but it feels like all the actual honest takes here are bad. I like the premise behind the brand, but the products really don't live up to the hype. Plus it's way too expensive for cheap chocolate. Won't be buying again. I tried another brand called NOON and they are waaayyy better and work so so well.

  • i know people love alice, but i fear my adhd brain is too powerful for them to have an effect on me

  • What a waste. The only reason i gave them two stars is the cool packaging. First, the chocolate isn't that great. Second, the advertising is misleading. All the ads I've seen speak to how relaxed you're going to feel or how energized you'll be (depending on the product type). I tried it several times and didn't feel a bit different. Now let's talk cost -- considering the chocolate isn't great and the product didn't make me feel any different, it was over-priced and a complete waste of my money.

  • Honestly, I might have left a higher review had their customer service not been so awful. I purchased the combo pack - and they came in these cute little tins. But despite being wrapped the chocolates were just a melted blob when they got here. Still edible. Still mildly enjoyable. I wrote to the company, let them know they needed to fix their shipping so the product wasn’t melted upon arrival (not asking for anything, just as a heads up.) Charlotte wrote me back offered me a free box. I accepted. This was on Sept 9. Nothing came in the mail. So I let her know. She apologized and offered a refund by 10/16. Then stopped answering me entirely. I’ve attached screenshots of the entire conversation for proof.

  • I’m reading the reviews and are people assuming there are psilocybin and hoping to trip? But I agree the price point on these doesn’t align with the taste or flavor experience. However I can attest that they taste A LOT better when you’re tripping on mushrooms.

  • These chocolates taste delicious and their packaging + branding is on point! I really enjoy eating a Nightcap chocolate before going to sleep for a deeper nights rest.

While I enjoyed the chocolates and would likely order them again for a special occasion, I feel they’re a bit expensive to use on a regular basis. Functional mushrooms work best when you take them consistently so that can make these chocolates a big investment. I enjoy these as a fun addition to my other functional mushroom supplements.

  • A friend of mine gave me these to try and yesterday, when I was beat tired, I ate a couple pieces. Brain fog, gone. Exhaustion, gone. There was such a noticable difference in my mood that I decided to search for their website and found that they also have an aphrodisiac chocolate and a nightcap for sleep!! Now I want to try all of them!!!

  • I thought the chocolate taste was fine. Took awhile to sleep but slept well. Have been dizzy most of the day. Will try again in a week.

  • I think the packaging is really beautiful and I do like using a piece of this chocolate on days when I need an extra boost of focus.

It is pretty expensive, definitely will be a bit until I decide to repurchase. The aftertaste of this chocolate is not as enjoyable as I would like to admit.... too bitter for my palette.

  • Maybe my experience was different than other people’s. I was hoping for more of a chill out vibe after having a piece of chocolate but I didn’t really feel much of that. For me and my husband, this product wasn’t worth the money because it didn’t have the slight buzz we were looking for. I hope other people have a better experience.

  • I ordered the brainstorm/focus chocolates for $29. I chose standard 3-5 day shipping which apparently costs $11. There is also Route package protection for $1.55 bringing the total cost for my tin of 16 chocolates to a total of $41.55 ($2.60 for each individual chocolate). I ordered on August 29th. I was immediately bombarded with advertisement emails from both Alice mushroom company and Route tracking app, with very little information about the status of my order. There were several “Track My Order” links and tracking numbers that didn’t provide any information. For almost 2 weeks, the Route app couldn’t tell me anything because the order apparently hadn’t shipped. On September 11th, I finally received an email that my order had shipped and I could see tracking information. The order arrived on September 15th. I was curious to try the chocolate so I had one after lunch instead of my afternoon coffee. I felt absolutely nothing. I was dragging so much after 2 hours I just went ahead and made my coffee. Then I read that they say the mushroom extract only takes effect over a longer time period and so the chocolate is supplemented with Guarana (with caffeine) and phosphatidylserine, to provide a more immediate effect on alertness. I’ve continued to have one chocolate each day for the last week, and I’ve never felt any boost to my alertness or focus whatsoever. If anything, I’ve felt more tired and less focused. I’m very disappointed and feel like I’ve been scammed out of $40.

  • Packaging is perfect. I cannot eat these no matter how I try. I had great expectations but for me the product is uneatable. Hard earned money down the drain. Live and Learn.

  • I agree with some of the people. I had a terrible experience with this company. It took forever to ship, then when it finally came it was over 100 degrees. Unlike most of the vendors I get food from, they have a tiny piece of ice so the chocolate was completely melted when it arrive. I finally opened it and tried a square and no effect what so ever.

  • Alice chocolates does great packaging and marketing through influencers on Instagram. It’s a very trendy market and will be even more exciting in the coming years d/t medical reviews and studies on psilocybin for treatment of depression. The mushrooms used in this product like reishi and chaga definitely give me a boost of energy I really like this product!

This is a pricey product and there are other product lines at Whole Foods offering the same mushrooms in capsules, powder, or chocolate forms. I would recommend this product for those wanting a cute package and reliable quality chocolate whom don’t mind the price.

  • Very bitter and I found no benefit or felt any effect. I basically just threw it away because it tasted awful.

Received a free product from Alice Mushrooms
  • Website is so busy it's impossible to navigate. Impossible to cancel. Product misrepresents itself and marketing is intentionally confusing. I will NEVER purchase from Alice again.

  • I received my first order of Nightcap mushrooms today. They came melted the cold packs were liquid. I’m not happy! Will not order again

  • I purchased this product and somehow got signed up for a subscription! Trying to cancel is a joke! To manage subscription you must request an invite from the company!!! So easy to order and impossible to cancel or get any assistance! Beware!!!

  • I love both the Focus and Calm/Sleep chocolates; they are a bit pricy to consume as regularly as I'd like, but the taste is nice (especially for the Focus). Just some health cautions: be careful with the Calm/Sleep chocolates if you have low blood pressure as the reishi can intensify that. I really feel that these mellow me out and can be taken during the day without making me feel sleepy (and sometimes half a piece will do the trick). If you are hypoglycemic, be aware that the cordyceps in the Focus chocolates can cause low blood sugar. These chocs help me to really get stuff done in a way that I haven't been able to before, and the more consistently I take them, the more positive I feel in general. I struggle with some anxiety/mood stuff, so this is a big answer for me. I just have to make sure that I eat more protein when I eat this one. The other thing I found was that the cordyceps can cause some minor intestinal/toilet trouble--but the tradeoff of a clear mind and more positive outlook is well worth the potential side effects. Grateful to have found these!
