I was sad to hear that Becca Mapes was closing down Winden--it has been fascinating to watch her artistic vision evolve over the years from gorgeous jewelry (that I could never afford) to thoughtful hair accessories and haircare. The solid shampoo is THAT girl, lathering up beautifully and encouraging the natural curl of one's hair. The combs and hair accessories are chic and classic, and well made in France. If there is anything left on their site or Amazon storefront, grab them now!

So here’s the thing…I have A LOT of hair. Not only is it down to my butt when it’s combed out, but it’s so thick. I exclusively use a wide tooth comb in my hair, but after losing my og wide tooth comb in a move, I needed a new one badly. I purchased the wide tooth comb from Winden & I am obsessed. Made we wish I lost my other comb ages ago. It is to get through my hair wet or dry. It’s so aesthetically pleasing. And made from 100% pre-consumer cellulose acetate from factory scraps! Customer service was also top notch after a shipping delay due to an issue with their 3PL company. Great product & service! What’s not to love?!?

In their own words
Redefining everyday living through thoughtfully designed personal care essentials. We believe that beautiful design can and should be functional. Our thoughtfully designed personal care essentials offer an opportunity to redefine how you live, starting with your daily routine. Our first collection of hair accessories debuted in early 2018. This collection of clips, barrettes, and combs is made at a family-owned and -operated factory in France using plant-based plastics and pre-consumer recycled materials. In 2021, we began working on expanding our collection to include hair care products. Inspired by founder Rebecca Mapes’ own journey to live a more conscious lifestyle, she saw an opportunity to create something meaningful within this space while innovating on the market’s current offerings. Our solid shampoo provides a way to help consumers become more sustainable in their daily lives.
