Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • Perfect melt in your mouth texture and delicious.

  • I love Tony's Chocolonely! My favorite is the Dark Milk Chocolate Pretzel Toffee, the perfect combo of crunchy and smooth, sweet and salty. In addition to making my favorite chocolate bars, Tony's doesn't use child slave labor which is horrifically common in the cacao industry.

  • Best. Chocolate bars. Ever. I wish they were easier to find outside of the US!

  • Although it tastes okay, it is definitely overhyped because it is nothing special so not worth buying when there are cheaper chocolates that are just as nice/nicer.

  • Love love love this chocolate! We always get some when we find our favorites. Caramel and Sea Salt, White Chocolate are wonderful. Rich creamy flavors not too sugary.

  • Love the idea and the work Tony's do to change the cholocate industry, and the chocolates are delicious. But they feel like children's chocolates, full of sugar and other additives compared to other fair trade organic chocolates. Would love to see them do some more refined options with high cacao content and low sugar.

  • Nice thick chocolate with high quality creamy chocolate. Definitely worth the extra money

  • Obsessed with this chocolate bar. My go-to for when I want a sweet treat!!! Only thing I would change is the imprint/break pattern - It's hard to break of clean pieces and they're uneven. it's a cute design though and not enough of a complaint for me to stop enjoying it.

  • By far my favorite chocolate on the market: tasty, high quality, with innovative flavors and an admirable mission. It’s especially hard to find milk chocolate that really tastes gourmet in the U.S. (not all of us want to eat dark chocolate!), and they excel at that. Pricing is a bit high on their website, but I buy their bars at my local Whole Foods for $5.50, which feels very reasonable.

  • Pretty tasty chocolate, smooth taste. I tried milk chocolate and some dark chocolate varieties. Better than Hershey's and I bought them in a pack so they were relatively affordable. Have a very nostalgic vibe and the ethics are on point! Could have a richer taste and more varieties in flavors/additions to the chocolate.

  • Almost suspiciously good, very high quality and delicious taste and texture. Definitely not easy for me to pace myself when eating lol

  • My boyfriend introduced me to Tony’s Chocolate for valentines this year and oh my goodness I was HOOKED. It tastes amazing unlike ‘top-brands’ that seem to have reduced their quality but increased their price!

  • I was drawn to Tony's chocolate because of the packaging (as I'm sure most people are) - it's super funky and bright and really grabs your attention compared to a lot of other brands. The good news is that it's tasty too and comes in a good variety of flavours. Honestly, I'm not sure the taste of the milk chocolate alone is enough to warrant the price tag but they also happen to be an ethical chocolate company and I can really get behind the company's ethos of making chocolate that's 100% free of exploitation and trying to encourage others to do the same. That's definitely worth paying a little more for.

  • Firstly I love the branding of the chocolate, they have an outstanding package and the shapes of the chocolate makes them unique. The chocolate itself taste very nice and it is still unique. You can taste it right away that it’s tony. I also the love the fact they many unique flavours!
