Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • Absolutely delicious chocolate

  • I'm not invested all that much in Companies' backstories. But the taste of this chocolate is quite good. The texture is a little bit more tough and than the popular brands, and they have a fun imprint on the front that can either add or detract from the overall experience (for me it adds). Personally, this is good, but not all that different in taste from some cheaper brands. For context, I only eat dark chocolate, so I can't speak to the other flavors. The price is the big negative for me on these.

  • I am a huge fan of Tony’s Chocolonely, both in terms of the flavors of the product and their anti-slavery mission. It’s really hard to find dark chocolate with fun mix-ins and flavors, and Tony’s definitely accomplishes that. I also really like their “dark milk” chocolate option, it’s almost like a semi-sweet that you use in cooking. the packaging is I catching, and I love all of their salty sweet flavors.

  • Great chocolate, premium quality. Tried multiple flavors, loved them all. Very rich, complex chocolate notes. The bars are not cut into evenly sized pieces, which looks cool but isn't as easy to eat. They're also quite thick. But they're so tasty that I don't really care!

  • when trying this chocolate you can truly just get the milky feeling and flavor thought the whole chocolate bar. Im intrigued to try more flavors after trying this one.

  • Excellent fair trade chocolate available in a variety of delicious flavors. I love the milk caramel sea salt bar the most (the little salty bits are 💯), but the dark milk chocolate pretzel toffee bar is also a favorite!

  • My biggest issue with this brand is how chalky the chocolate tastes. It is so thick that the pieces don’t melt easily on the tongue, which is a pleasure when eating a piece of chocolate. It does have attractive packaging which makes it a nice looking gift.

  • OK... there is chocolate...and then there is chocolonely. Tony's Everything Bar is beyond amazing. It is easily one of, if not the best chocolate bar I have every experienced. Every bite is a taste of heaven. It is a big bar, however, do not be surprised if you consume the entire bar in minutes. In fact, do not just buy one... save a trip and grab a couple. Yes, it is that good. Give Tony's a shot - thank me later.

  • So good! Creamy and delicious!!

  • Best chocolate!! Love baking with it too!

  • Best chocolate imo! not only does it taste amazing but it's fair trade - think the ben and jerry's of chocolate : a good brand with a good mission! It's great when you know that the corporate level did the job of making sure the production chain is clean - because they should be taking care of that for the consumer! My ONE COMPLAINT is that the way they make the shapes of the pieces is whack like it's hard to break up but my labor can go into breaking up a whacky tony's bar i digress.

  • Love this! It’s not everyone cup of tea but it’s absolutely delicious!

  • Definitely one of the best I had in the recent times. I've tried a few choco bars which was suggested by my cousin and close friends. This one is definitely the best!

  • The first time I tried this chocolate it was on sale. I loved the packaging because it was thick and chunky looking. So I tried two flavors and I was impressed. It was milk chocolate and fruit or maybe rice.

  • Love love love this chocolate!! I traditionally hate American chocolate (it tastes like rubber imo) so I love that Tony’s is an option for consumers here and that its made in Belgium. Great flavor variety and I love the design of the chocolate bar.

  • So far I have loved all the different lines that they offer, but was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked their milk chocolate carmel sea salt. I am not a big fan of milk chocolate l, but theirs has a nice velvety smooth texture and not too sweet. I can't wait to continue exploring all they have to offer.

  • Obsessed with this chocolate! Not only are they a brand that has ethical practices I support, they have beautiful packaging and their seasonal peppermint flavor is amazing. I love the big chunks of peppermint in every dark chocolate bite.

  • Tony's chocolate exceeds many of the brands on the market! I love the thickness, size, and quality flavor. It's also reasonably priced for what you get. My one critique is that it's not allergy friendly - my husband is celiac and is not able to eat this due to it being processed on shared equipment.

  • Contains soy, a super common allergen that causes anaphylactic shock. Hard pass.
