Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • I came across Tony's chocolate some years back and it quickly became one of my favorites. Solid, smooth and flavorful it fulfills my love of milk chocolate. I will always pick up a bar if I see them but order regularly just to have available.

  • Love Tony's Chocolonely, the milk chocolate caramel with sea salt is my favorite. Perfect levels of salty and sweet. I will say though, if you don’t like salted chocolate you likely won’t like this flavor or the pretzel toffee

  • This chocolate is super duper good. Even though I am dairy-free, I gave it a try. I ate it with my coffee and it was so freaking delicious!

  • I love this chocolate. The logo is catchy, the flavors are unique, and the chocolate isn't too rich, and it melts in your mouth.

  • I’ve been enjoying Tony’s for years! It’s the best tasting chocolate I’ve come across. The salted caramel bars are amazing and their variety of chocolates are incredible. Significantly better than all the chocolatiers in America

  • Incredible chocolate in a variety of flavors! I love their messaging and ethical stance on the labor and sourcing of their ingredients.

  • I love chocolate! It’s one of my favorite sweet treats. There is nothing special about these chocolate vs your regular dove or Hershey chocolate. They taste the same to me. Only difference is price point. Stick with what you know.

  • This may be my new favorite chocolate. I love how thick and smooth the chocolate is. The sea salt is crunchy and delicious. I like that the pieces are easy to break apart.

  • It's good chocolate. However, I like Dove and other brands a bit better taste and texture wise and I didn't love how clunky the bars are. I do really like the white chocolate with raspberry popping candy though.

  • Amazing quality and taste but would love the squares to be a bit smaller and more unified.

  • Very good quality chocolate, just a little too pricey for me.

  • As far as chocolate goes, it's hard to mess it up. The packaging is old fashioned and I love it, and had an incorrect notion that the chocolate would taste old fashioned and rich but that's just me misleading myself I suppose. Theres nothing special tasting about it at all, in fact reminds me a lot of Russel Stover. Just kind of generic.

  • Love their chocolate and would definitely buy it for friends and family. great quality.

  • Tony’s chocolate is so good, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t even really like chocolate! I love that there’s different flavor combos too! Trust me if you’re gonna eat chocolate this one’s the best

  • Yum yum YUM!!!! Honestly I love this chocolate the only thing is that it can cost a little much but I think it is worth it for a treat

  • I love this chocolate. I wanted to try it after learning about how bad/unfair chocolate labor practices are. I got the multipack and it’s some of the best chocolate ever- it didn’t make my stomach hurt after eating it.

  • Love the company’s mission but sadly the chocolate is just not the best. Maybe I’m looking for something richer? Overall, a great buy but not for chocolate connoisseurs.

  • I tried the salted caramel and it is amazing! Great quality chocolate, just the right amount of salt. So delicious! I will definitely be picking up more for stocking stuffer and also for.myself.

  • The choclate is amazing! Very creamy and just the right amount of sweet. The only thing keeping it from a 5 IMO is that the design on the bar makes it really hard to bite. I have to break it by hand first

  • The best supermarket chocolate IMO. Decent prices (given the enormous size of one bar), excellent mission (slavery-free chocolate), and lots of fun flavors. The paper sleeve is bright and iconic. I personally don’t love the stamped pattern on the bar and would prefer one that’s closer to a grid so it’s easier to break off pieces of similar sizes.
