Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • I looooove this chocolate. It's delicious, huge bars, and I feel extra good about getting it knowing that it's ethically sourced. Cute packaging too!

  • Good tasting chocolate with cute packaging. You get a good amount of chocolate for your money, too! I have bought the bars for myself and for friends as “thinking of you” gifts. I also feel good about supporting their mission.

  • This is my absolute favorite chocolate brand. I discovered them by chance and fell in love. I love all of the different flavors and love the different shape pieces which makes eating it fun. It’s easy to find and a real treat.

  • The flavor of these bars are insane, super rich but not too sweet. But I must admit I wasn't the biggest fan of their texture. It sometimes felt a little too soft and chewy, especially the flavor with add-ins. Not sure if I'd make these my go-to chocolate bar but would never turn down a bite.

  • I recently tried Tony Chocolonely's milk chocolate and it is hands down my favorite! No other chocolate bars compare anymore. The texture is so smooth and it is super tasty! I also love the fact that they have a mission behind their brand, it just makes everything extra sweet. However, it's worth noting that my partner tastes something metallic in it, but I personally don't. Your mileage may vary!

  • Tony's Chocoloney is sold in supermarkets in the UK, so it's a really accessible brand. My partner's name is Tony, so we get these as little gifts from time to time and we're always very grateful! They come in a wide range of flavours in white and milk chocolate plus vegan options. They also regularly release limited editions - the milk pecan caramel crunch 32% went down a treat. I'd give this more of a 4.5 stars because although they also do a 70% dark chocolate I haven't so far seen any creatively flavoured dark chocolate bars, and I'm a fan of a fruity dark chocolate, which I miss from their range. Their ethical credentials appear good, so I've rounded the score up, rather than down :))

  • One of the best chocolate bars I've ever had if not the best! Have unique as well as classic flavors made with high quality chocolate that you can taste. If I'm craving chocolate this is typically the first bar I reach for.

  • Fantastic product albeit at a premium price point. Caramel and sea salt I just keep coming back to, although better than others in chocolate I have heard that they may have some supply chain challenges to maintain slave free but still better than supporting Cadbury's in the UK.

  • I've got a sweet tooth and the taste and offerings of Tony's Chocolonely have all been delicious and high quality. Its mission is extremely interesting and important and I like all the education and visibility the brand has brought to the chocolate industry. The main reason I rate 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the insane way these chocolate bars are divided. I looked it up and read that this is done on purpose to represent the inequality in the chocolate industry, which is really cool, but I wonder if there might be a way to still represent that with some sort of lighter etching/pattern on the bar while still also allowing for the ability to break these bars into more manageable bits. This has made these chocolates not suitable for things like s'mores or even just snacking/charcuterie style serving for guests.

  • Delicious AND ethical - who could ask for more? I really enjoy their toffee flavor.

  • Great chocolate, high quality and fabulous flavours. Love the packaging too

  • Such a fun and delicious brand! I love buying all their new flavors and limited releases. These bars also make for great gifts and to enjoy as part of a charcuterie board!

  • Such unique flavors and the chocolate is so creamy! I’m obsessed w the pink and purple bars. I absolutely love the fair trade aspect of their brand as well. Would highly recommend giving this chocolate a try!

  • okay LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CHOCOLATE EVER!!!!!!! Every single time that i am at Whole Foods and swing by the chocolate isle - i can't help but pick up a couple bars to have in the fridge for when I have a sweet tooth.

  • sooooo delicious, haven't found a flavor i don't LOVE. this is the only chocolate I buy now, and I feel good knowing it's all fair-trade.

  • Absolutely LOVED this bar! Such fun packaging, huge pieces, impactful mission, and amazing taste. It’s like if Ben & Jerry’s made chocolate. Will definitely be buying this bar of goodness again :)
