Did I want to do DIY house projects yesterday? No. Do I want to do them today? Absolutely. Who knew a tool kit could be cute? Bonus—it’s not just pretty. The tools actually feel solid, with a hammer that has the perfect weight for getting things done (without feeling like I stole it from a construction site).

I feel a little meh about this for the price. It’s funny they put such a fancy handle on the box but the clasps are just bent plastic, the kind that break so quickly after being opened and closed. The same with the little storage area. The hinge is bent plastic. It’s also a missed opportunity for including maybe a few extra blades and some hanging hooks, maybe a little masking tape instead of an empty space. The hammer is ok and alan wrenches are Alan wrenches. But mine don’t stay snapped in place so every time I open the box they are hanging loose. The ratchet style multi tip screw driver is almost cool but I don’t get how to get the bits out of their storage spots -very difficult. Practically need to use pliers to pull out the screwdriver tips. I got this for my daughter for college through the thingdrop so it was 70% off. For the full price I would like to see a little more thought out design details. Maybe in version 2.0.

I really wanted to love this kit but sadly the quality misses the mark. Definitely style over substance (I should have known). The kit container itself doesn't feel secure (the latches are just plastic and somewhat loose - pic below). It's also big and it feels like the tools have a lot of space between them which isn't necessary - there are a lot of kits out there with a similar amount of tools, from trusted brands, that take up less space and have better quality. The tool kit also has a carrying handle, sure, but it doesn't sit flat if you want the handle on the top for vertical storage (see pic). The pliers stick together so you have to manually pull them apart for use (and the metal was "shedding" upon opening - pic included). Items are also really difficult to get out, especially the organizer container latch - nearly impossible to open, and again is just hard plastic, so I feel like I will inevitably break that. Items inside are also scratched already... a Stanley homeowners toolkit with 65 pieces is like 30% cheaper than this. I am hoping I can return this and get that instead!

I love this TINKR kit! We already have a full set of tools in the garage, but I wanted something compact and accessible for quick fixes. This kit is perfect balance of compact and high-quality. Takes a bit of rearranging to figure out the best way to roll it all up in the canvas, but once you get it, it's compact and fits in a kitchen drawer. ⬛ Tools are solid and easy to use (even with petite hands) ⬛ Quality is on par with tools in our pro toolboxes ⬛ Great gift for first-time homeowners, renters, or even as a Secret Santa gift ⬛ Customer service is friendly and responsive I used the kit to assemble a shoe rack, and didn’t even need to grab our power tools from the garage. Bonus: the tape measure auto-stops, which gets 5 stars on its own ✌️
