I've been using the ordinary for almost 10 years. I've used many more of their products, but I'm only including the ones currently in my lineup. Their items are no-frill, but they completely changed my skin at a time when my skin was super dry, irritated, and unhealthy looking AND I had no idea how to create a skincare routine. I did go into one of their stores in SF and a sales person helped me build my routine and she was a lifesaver, since they have a HUGE variety of products (the benefit is that you can pick/choose ingredients specifically to target your concerns). The salesperson helped me start on my journey to understanding what ingredients and combination of ingredients work well for my skin, and how to experiment with them. Because of the price point, I don't have to worry about experimenting and the cost. Honestly, other companies that cost more are more likely to break me out because they put so many different ingredients into a single solution or serum. I got my sister to start using the ordinary, and I'd honestly recommend it (especially the AHA + BHA peeling solution) to literally everyone.

I’ve been using a combination of The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Hyaluronic Acid, and Glycolic Acid, and it’s completely elevated my skincare routine. The Niacinamide + Zinc serum has been amazing for keeping my oil production in check and minimizing the appearance of pores. My skin looks noticeably clearer and more balanced, especially in areas where I used to get frequent breakouts. It gives that smooth, refined look without feeling heavy. Adding Hyaluronic Acid into the routine made a huge difference in hydration. My skin feels plumper, softer, and more refreshed throughout the day. Used this to help fade dark spots and control acne/milia spots. Have seen a noticeable difference even with a short usage time. I prefer to use it during the day after cleansing and toning and sitting just under my moisturizer. I tend to use it every second day and that seems to work fine. It’s a nice affordable price point as well!

I’ve been really impressed with this serum. It noticeably helped balance my skin and reduce excess oil without making me feel dry or tight. Used it consistently for a few weeks—this is actually my second bottle. Best for oily, acne-prone, or combination skin types. Not fungal acne safe (contains niacinamide and zinc, which can trigger it for some). Helps control oil and fade dark spots, but can feel tacky on the skin.

I love the concept of the Ordinary skincare, how you are able to customize your skincare routine and getting the skincare ingredients needed to achieve your goals without paying for the fancy ingredients and packaging. I love their glycolic acid toner but really didn’t like the nicinimide serum and vitamin c serum. They smelt funny and pilled a lot even with other the Ordinary products.
