The End of the Pre-Dinner Whine I have two dogs — a Whoodle and a Newfypoo. Yes, I know — ridiculous names for dog breeds, but that’s what they are. Fletch, my Wheaten, has been picky since the day he was born. He’s almost ten now, sweet as they come and stubborn as a mule, but he’ll turn away most treats if they’re not to his liking. After years of testing everything from frozen to the raw-food revolution in dog food, I had settled on Stella & Chewy’s. But with it came what my family calls the “pre-dinner whine” Fletch’s nightly protest until he realizes he’s not getting human food. (We don’t cave, it never ends well.) A week ago, I decided it was time for a change. Enter The Honest Kitchen. The reviews promised miracles — chef-crafted, human-grade meals “even the pickiest pups will devour.” It sounded too good to be true, but I was desperate. One week later, I can confirm: devour is the word. No upset stomach, no side-eye, and — most importantly — no pre-dinner whine. Even Ferry, my Newfypoo (who would happily eat bricks), loves it. I will say it is stew and looks and smells like stew not ideal but those challenges are dwarfed by the fact that peace has been restored to dinner hour, and I’ve already ordered cases. For anyone living with a canine food critic, trust me, The Honest Kitchen is less dog food, more fine dining served with a side of serenity.

I’ve been using this food for a few months now for my dog, and it’s been great! My dog really likes it and I love knowing it’s made with good quality ingredients, most of them organic. It feels clean, nourishing, and like something I can actually trust feeding her. Definitely one of my favorite dog food finds!

The ingredients of the food are very good and my mother's dog is very happy with it, but unfortunately, the production is absolutely horrible and the customer service is indifferent. The food arrives with 20 to 30% dust or tiny crumbs and the rest is solid pieces of kibble. I have tried sifting it and sorting it by hand and all kinds of other methods to maximize the amount of kibble I am getting but in the end I have to write off 20 to 30% and have gotten annoyed with calling and writing the company to be told that they are fixing their manufacturing processes. I feel like a sucker because they've been telling me this for 2 years and obviously nothing has changed. Even more interesting is the fact that I obtained the emails of their CEO and president and when you try to email them you are blocked from doing so! A company that is run by people who do not want to hear from their customers is never a good sign. In fact it is a really bad sign that they know there are issues with their product and don't want to be put on the spot by a customer

I tried the dehydrated cat food from this brand after spotting a box of it on clearance. I made the food exactly as described on the box, but the food didn't seem to really make much of a substance. The food was still far too "soupy" My cat wasn't thrilled about the food, so I ended up mixing it into his normal wet food. He didn't mind it then. I don't know if it was just a one-off experience with my cat not liking the food or what. The ingredients are good, and I'd be willing to give the brand another chance.
I use the grain free dog food for my dog - I feel better about having this as an option for her than a more processed kibble. I like that it is roasted and not raw (because raw foods have been spreading bird flu and we have a cat so that is a concern for us). She is picky and really likes it.
AMAZING!!!! I've been feeding my dog this brand his entire life, and I always get told how great he looks for his age. He is a 11 year old Australian shepherd with the energy of a puppy still. I was feeding him this when I could only buy the dehydrated box powder and mix it with his chicken. He has a very sensitive tummy and I've tried countless sensitive stomach food. The only things his stomach can tolerate is Honest kitchen, and Hills ID low fat (which is a prescription food) and I only like to feed him that when he has an upset GI. I'm so glad this brand has become more popular and easier to find in pet stores. I love this dog food!
Every product I’ve ever bought is outstanding, the ingredients are trustworthy and the pets love them. The dehydrated food, kibble bits, treats and supplements are unparalleled.
My dog was very picky until we switched him over the dehydrated food from here! Now he gets excited for all his meals and prances around joyful and all. I've also tried the snacks and broths from here which are great add ons to his meals for special treats.
