Reviews mention

  • Playful, confidence-boosting branding
  • Clever, mirrored refillable compact
  • Cute, expressive patch designs
  • Gentle, non-irritating hydrocolloid
  • Inconsistent, weak patch adhesion
  • Limited extraction effectiveness
  • Small, one-size star patches
  • Awkward, curling star points

Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

  • it works OK. I wouldn’t say it gets rid of. The blemishes does bring them to surface a bit.

I would say find a way to have the patch dry out the pimple. I feel like once I take it off. It’s a little too moist still

  • Made my lip area (around spot) become incredibly swollen and numb. It was so bad I had to go to A and E and it was spreading - I was worried it would make my tongue and throat close up. I don't know if I had some kind of allergic reaction to these but apparently hydrocolloid is v unusual/unheard of to be allergic to and have this kind of reaction. I've never experienced this before with similar products. Also be aware that you are touching these stickers before you put them on your face and this is almost impossible not to do, meaning you are introducing bacteria to the spot and sealing it there for hours.

  • I thought the product had a cute look and everything but the patches do nothing for me while other brands work wonders.

The yellow star patches are what I bought and they don’t stick to my face that well. If I do happen to wake up with them still on, there’s never even a slight chance of my skin being better after multiple nights.

  • Use them almost every day and they 100% make a difference, however they aren't an immediate fix! some pimples disappear super quickly, more stubborn spots i'd use another stronger option.

    Feedback

    Less plastic packaging!

  • I was so sure that I would love this that I ordered a pack and two refills when they went on sale. Unfortunately these are some of the least effective pimple patches I’ve used.

    Feedback

The stickers slip off your face very easily, and they don’t pull out oil. It truly looks and acts like a sticker you just slap on your face.

  • I got these because of the super cute packaging (cute hard shaped box with star shaped patches) however the results disappointed me. These don’t work well at all and because of the star shape of the patches, it peels off more easily. My pimples don’t diminish in size or redness after using these compared to other patches. There are other brands on the market for pimple patches that work a lot better. I do keep the box to store my other patches in because of how cute and compact it is!

    Feedback

Shape makes it hard to stay in place and apply. Don’t see any difference after using these on my pimples compared to other brands.

  • I love using their face wash as it always leaves me with a clean and not oily face.

  • Very cute packaging and idea. Love the container, it is sturdy and solid. The little mirror in the box is great, and the magnet is strong. The stars are also cute - however the stickers do not stick. They peel off, do not last through sleep, and do not absorb well.

    Feedback

The stickers need to be stronger adhesive and better at absorbing.

  • I got to try starface last year. I first fell in love with the brand through instagram, their packaging was just so darn cute. The skincare is really affordable especially for the quality. The website is so fun with the little game and all of the graphics. I would definitely buy from them again.

    Feedback

    no complaints :)

  • Loved the packaging and the little stars.

    Feedback

I think I there are better acne patches out there that are more effective getting rid of pimples.

  • I like theee, I think they’re a fun alternative if you’re having a bad bout of acne flair up, I do wish there were different size options or better additive ingredient to help acne like it’s competitors- but the marketing is fun.

    Feedback

I think more variety in the patches as well as better skincare additives to the patches to get on the level of competitors.

The corners of the stars curl up.

  • These are clearly adorable, which is what sold me. The packaging is great and little starts on your face are cuter. Cuteness aside, this product didn’t work for me. I put these on numerous pimples and it seemed it did nothing for them every time.

    Feedback

overall, the product should be updated to work more like a hydrocolloid patch. i feel it may not stick enough.

  • Soooo cute I love the packaging and branding but I find that The pimple patches don’t work as well as some other brands that I have tried and it can be a bit of an awkward size and shape for certain blemishes. But I do love how it looks on your face super cute!

    Feedback

I would like to see some bigger sized patches if those don’t exist already but overall great brand !

  • It was an ok pimple patch for small bumps. It didn’t stay on very well and the adhesive left a sticky mark that didn’t go away easily. Cute design and fun to wear. But just not worth the price given how many other brands are out there that work 10 times better.

    Feedback

The adhesive didn’t stick well and left residue, the product wasn’t very effective either.

  • They don’t stick as well as Mighty Patch. I felt like these were stickers and didn’t actually do anything.

    Feedback

They could stay put better and actually soak up whatever is in a pimple.

  • I honestly think these patches are super cute! I bought the original pimple patches, and the exfoliating toner. The patches worked like normal hydrocolloid patches would, and they looked good too. However, I wouldn’t say it was any more than that, which could justify how much more expensive they are than other patches (the packaging is very cute tho!). The exfoliating treatment was also not great for me and I never really used it more than a few times. The smell was pretty strong and I never found myself wanting to use it.

    Feedback

I know they recently came out with patches that have salicylic acid, so I think that’s a good improvement!

  • Incredible, effective products. The hydro-stars can clear up and unwanted breakout in a day or two, perfect for an emergency. Plus, they’re cute and I have no shame wearing them out in public! The team behind the brand is very helpful and a pleasure to communicate with.

  • I love hydrostars! They stay well throughout the night and don't leave my skin feeling super dry or irritated after pimple-busting. I recommend them to everyone!

    Feedback

I wish the corners of the hydrostars were form firm so they wouldn't bend as easily. Other than that, no complaints!

  • First of all, the branding makes me genuinely happy. Whenever I open my medicine cabinet, there's this cute little Starface staring back at me. Oh, and they work! I don't break out often (blessed), but when I do, I throw on a lil star and see results. Truly wish I had this product as a teen.
