Nothing beats Smartwool. In 2019 I bought maybe 20 pairs that I have been rotating through even today. Most of them are still in pretty good shape, so I finally did another haul to throw out the ones that have truly been through the wringer. I'm talking a dozen back packing trips, daily workouts, daily walks with my dog, skiing, hiking etc. They've held up and they really are a joy to slip on. Check out the photo of my haul, I'm definitely a sad beige girly and they make my heart so happy.

Best running socks! Even in warm weather, these things work. They wick away sweat, have enough cushion without feeling too thick, and they’re the only socks I can consistently wear without getting blisters.

I’ve had my Smartwool socks for many years and they’re only now starting to wear thin, so it was time to order some new ones. They’re not cheap but they really do last, and you can find some decent sales on the website if you’re not too picky about colors and styles. Since I’m not a serious athlete, I don’t pay too much attention to the sports they are designed for and just picked out a few different styles and thickness to have on hand. Looking forward to having this stash for years to come!

Purchased my first two Smartwool products for our trip to Patagonia. I got the long-sleeve base layer and the base layer leggings. Both were essential on all of my hikes. They kept me warm when I needed to be, and were breathable when it was time to shed layers. Neither held onto sweat/smells. Will be purchasing more from this brand in the future. Worth the price to invest in solid, reliable pieces of clothing.

Smartwool's socks are great quality. For years, I only owned about 2-3 pairs of socks at a time. For a while that was Smartwool. With such frequent use, one pair would last a couple years before it gave out on me. The only reason I transitioned away from Smartwool is aesthetics, but I'm not gonna dock them for that. It's really personal preference and these days I like things with a more urban street look. But if I ever need high-performance socks, I know where to go.
If I could afford to only have smart wool socks I would do that, $20 for a pair of socks is a lot but they do last and they are great. I have a few pairs and they are mostly what I use for inside socks in the winter unless I go somewhere cold enough to warrant heavy socks with boots. That said, I really do enjoy them, I like the properties of the wool like oder prevention and temperature regulation and moisture and I'll continue to add to my sock drawer as often as I can. They also do sock recycling programs which I am always happy to see brands doing.
