  • Instructions are simple to follow. The brownie is on the drier side; basically, it is not super moist nor is it gooey. It does have a nice dark chocolate aroma and taste like brownie. It is soft and taste quite sweet. It's crusty on the outside and soft on the side.

  • I love the brownie mix from this brand. It unfortunately doesn't taste much different from a conventional brownie mix, but I love that it's made with upcycled ingredients in it.

  • Easy to mix; way more convenient than conventional boxed mixes due its vegan nature and the inclusion of starches and xantham gum to hold the dough together. The taste is not overly sweet (a plus, to me) and the texture is textbook: fluffy chewy crumb with crisp edges (this part is kind of up to your own judgment re: oven temp & timing, recipe says 350°F for 12-15 but ovens are famously inconsistent). And of course I love the upcycled aspect reflecting this emergent supply chain growing out of the plant-based foods industry. Waste is not hot! Finally, going to dock a point off the rating as the packaging is not compostable or recyclable (at least it was not marked as such). I'm not *really* that harsh about this usually but I feel like for a brand that emphasizes its sustainability this is absolutely an area for improvement. Love the Plastic Negative certification; hope it can go even deeper!
