  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Great alternative for lactose-intolerant crowd.

    Feedback

I enjoy adding to my caffeinated beverages.

  • As far as oat milk goes, it's pretty good. Usually what I buy.

    Feedback

    Maybe could be more creamy?

  • I absolutely love oatly as a milk substitute especially in coffee. It foams and heats perfectly and has no weird chemical taste that you have with other milk substitutes. Highly recommend!! Love the branding too.

  • Great tasting product but if you really dig into the ingredients slightly questionable health benefits.

    Feedback

    Cleaner ingredient label

  • Love the product. It is creamy and has great texture in coffee, smoothies, etc. The Barista edition is my favorite, used at home and by my local coffee shop. Almond milk pales in comparison. And their packaging is playful and endearing.

Share more information on the shelf life once open, it is hard to know in this new category.

  • Love it. Love the substitute to milk. The branding is so good too! Always keep one or two in the cupboard in case the milk runs out.

    Feedback

More robust packaging. Laying it on its side will start to make the opening disintegrate

  • I quite literally would do anything for the grey Oatly barista carton that sits on my fridge shelf, restocked week after week. Drive to 3 different grocery stores? Check. Call barista's to scout out their Oat milk choice? Yup. Oatly and I will go down together

    Truly nothing

  • I've tried a ton of different oat milk brands and this has to be one of my favorites every time! The oat flavor is not overbearing and works really well in coffee.

  • Love the creaminess of Oatly (I just can't do almond milk in my matcha lattes). Wish the ingredients were a bit better, though.

An oil-free main product would be perfect

  • Best flavor and consistency / mouth feel of all the oat milks I’ve tried (which are many). Perfect amount of sweetness and great for matcha lattes.

    Feedback

I love the consistency of the liquid - but wish it could happen without added “gums”

  • I like Oatly! Usually some oatmilks are too sweet for my liking but this one has a hint of vanilla and blends with my coffee well.

    Feedback

The consistency is a little thick overall but not much more to improve.

  • I'm not a big oat milk drinker, but love Oatly for its creaminess.

    Calories need to come down.

  • Oatly is super trendy and I understand why: the copy is hilarious, the ads are brilliant, and the flavor is amazing. However, I have a really sensitive stomach and Oatly is just too rich for me. When I use it, I have to use just a drop; I've had lattes with Oatly in the past that afterward make me feel as though I need to lie down (I prefer Malk).

    Feedback

I think it's great for what it is, just not a milk for everyone.

  • Overall, taste was good. Product is easily available nationwide, and set at a good price. However, compared to other brands I've tried, Oatly has a lot of ingredients that I wish it didn't. My current favorite brand's ingredient list is only two long: water and oats.

    Feedback

I'm sure the typical consumer doesn't care, but I wish the ingredients were fewer! Why so many??

  • It's oat milk! It's priced well and it lasts a long time. I buy it for my boyfriend sometimes, he loves it. Shelf stable until you open it? Awesome. It gets along well enough with my whole milk that I can leave them in the fridge together unsupervised, unlike that catty soy milk.

  • As far as oat milk goes it is tasty in my coffee and Tea. which is good for my lactose issues. I also like the packagings.
