Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Very nice and thick. Great for mega extra foam but unless there is foam it feels heavy. Without frothiness, it can feel dense. Like the label says, barista edition is right!

  • Smooth, good taste. I just like oat milk in my coffee or cereal, I don’t drink it by itself. I typically go for the original unsweetened option.

  • My favorite oatmilk and especially the full fat blue carton. Makes for the creamiest matcha lattes.

  • Love it. Pretty good ingredients. Nice carton that doesn’t leak and spill everywhere when you open it. Good oat flavor and shakes up and froths well. Wish they had organic options too!

  • Oatly is a great brand and has many great products. I love the ice cream they make; they offer a lot of flavors. Unfortunately stores by me, it is hit or miss if they carry oatly. The down side to the company is it is pretty expensive compared to others.

  • I enjoy Oatly! The flavor is great and it is the perfect creaminess for my coffee.

  • Used to absolutely rave about the barista drink! Love their marketing and brand! However I've recently found it to be too sweet for me. Sometimes i'll mix half and half with regular milk but often I'll just go with cows milk.

  • Love the oatly Greek yogurt and was not able to find another one like this on the market. Sadly no longer brand for me for ethical reasons.

  • I really like the taste of Oatly, but I heard that it's not the healthiest for you which is a total bummer. I still drink it from time to time but I don't consume it as often as I used too.

  • Love adding to my morning coffee! It's creamy (but not heavy). Interesting blurbs and fun-to-read messaging on the carton.

  • I can't help but love Oatly for their fun branding and marketing campaigns. The oat milk itself is a little on the watery side for my taste, but they do have a creamier version if that's your thing. I like the taste a lot and think it makes a great milk substitute.

  • I thought it was a great taste, and I’m not usually a fan of oat milk. They got the creamy taste right, doesn’t have that cardboard taste that other oat milks can have. It has enough density to make a nice cappuccino.

  • I love making my matcha lattes with this oatmilk! I learned that Starbucks also uses it when they make their matcha drinks!

  • As your friendly neighbourhood lactose-intolerant person who, despite it being against my best interests, cannot bring myself to quit dairy entirely, Oatly has been an absolute godsend. I have been able to completely substitute cow's milk from my at-home routine whether it be in cereal, cappuccinos, or just a simple glass of milk. The cappuccino bit is especially important, seeing as most plant-based milk substitutes I've tried either refuse to foam or refuse to hold their foam for more than three seconds. Overall, Oatly makes a great-tasting product and I will continue to purchase it on my own.

  • its a good oat milk, doesn't taste too much like oats and mixes well in coffee.

  • Good milk alternative. Pricey for ingredients that are used. There are better options available at the same or slightly higher price points.
