Oatly earns strong reviews for creamy, dairy-like texture—especially the Barista Edition, which froths reliably for café-level lattes and blends beautifully in coffee, matcha, and baking—while critiques target ingredient lists with added oils/gums and a sometimes sweet or “oaty” aftertaste. Reviews also note occasional gut sensitivity and glucose spikes, plus variability in thickness across versions, making Oatly a standout for performance in drinks but not ideal for those seeking the cleanest formulas.

This is hands down the best alternative milk I’ve ever had. It’s so versatile—I’ve used it successfully in everything from coffee to mashed potatoes. It doesn’t separate like other alt milks, and has a real creaminess to it. I just wish they sold it in a smaller size—I can’t always get through a whole carton before it goes off.
Not bad
Great flavor for a milk alternative. Perfect for coffee drinks!

I occasionally have oat milk but as oat milk goes Oatly are great. Works well in tea and coffee and I like their branding.
Not a fan of Oatly as a milk substitute for tea as the texture is slightly grainy and thick however it works well as a milk substitute in cooking. Very pricey so I couldn't afford to use it all the time!
One of my favorite oatmilks! It's creamy and delicious and perfect splashed in a espresso shot or over oatmeal
taste and texture is unprecedented in the non dairy world but it’s not something I would drink regularly due to the oils and fillers. I guess you can’t have it all!
I subscribe to a youtube channel based in Svalbard, Norway -- and Cecelia recommends Oatly, so I tried it since I have a lactose intolerance problem. This is disgusting. Its aftertaste is very off-putting. My coffee was horrible. I switched back to A2 milk with no problems. The cost of the product was cheaper than A2 milk, but still on the pricier side. It's a no from me.
I think oatmilk in general is kind of meh and Oatly is no exception. It's oat milk, it's made with a bunch of weird oils and I don't love the taste. However! Great marketing campaigns. Good for Oatly.
Delicious creamy and turned me into an oat milk lover. I just wish the ingredients were a little cleaner
Really great tasting milk alternative
We use Oatly instead of regular milk every time. The full fat version is perfect for recipes - it’s really creamy and adds a lot of taste even when only using a dash! I use the regular version in my coffee and wouldn’t change a thing. Much more flavour than other milk alternatives for an affordable cost!
the best tasting for fomaing in lattes but not the most natural
I am not a fan of this brand because of the sugar in their products.
Oatly is the OG of oat milk, so I do have some love for them. However, when I use my frother at home I don't get as much foam as other brands. Also, the ingredients aren't as great as some other brands at the same price point. I'll give them extra points for convenience, as they are in most stores.

Oatly is a good choice for oat milk in your coffee. It tastes really good and doesn't have a super powerful oat taste to it. I like it in my coffee and prefer it over half/half and other brands that offer oat milk beverages.
Love this oat milk for home lattes. Their barista blend is my favorite option for home baristas— so creamy and delicious.

I use partly in my coffee everyday, without fail. I use the low fat, non-barista product. It’s delicious and a little goes a long way. I’ve not had it on its own and fear it has too much sugar to drink significant amounts of but I love adding a small splash to my coffee every morning. Great flavor.

As a lactose-intolerant individual and a supporter of sustainable food choices, Oatly has become a staple in my daily routine. One of the things I love about Oatly is the creamy and rich texture of their oat milk. It's incredibly versatile and can be used in coffee, tea, smoothies, and even baking, providing a perfect dairy-free alternative. The taste is naturally sweet and delicious, making it a delightful addition to my beverages and recipes. Oatly's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility is commendable. They prioritize using sustainable and traceable oats, and their manufacturing process is designed to minimize their carbon footprint. As someone who cares about the impact of my food choices, knowing that Oatly strives to make a positive difference in the environment is a big plus. Moreover, their transparency and straightforward approach as a company are refreshing. They don't use unnecessary additives or artificial ingredients in their products, which aligns perfectly with my preference for clean and wholesome foods. Beyond oat milk, I've also tried Oatly's other offerings, such as their oat-based ice cream and yogurt alternatives, and they have all exceeded my expectations in taste and texture. In summary, Oatly has become my go-to brand for oat-based alternatives, and I can confidently say that their oat milk has made a significant and positive impact on my daily life. It's not just a dairy substitute; it's a delicious and sustainable choice that aligns perfectly with my values and tastes great too!
Best tasting oat milk on the market. A little pricey. I buy it every time it’s on sale.
