I am pretty fascinated by algae. They literally eat sunlight and carbon dioxide for breakfast, lunch and dinner and transform them into omega-3s, proteins and micronutrients. Some industrial processes can also use sugars or other starches (which can come from food waste streams.) A powerful blend of nutrition that can be net-negative on emissions? Sign me up. (I can’t speak to how nonfood is set-up exactly, but in any case algae are pretty amazing.) Given my fascination with algae, I had to try Nongredient…and I loved it! Not only do I love the nutrition panel, I really love the rich savory flavor. It enhances the taste of most savory dishes. It would be absolutely NONsense for you not to give NONfood a try.
