Reviews mention

  • Sleek, minimalist aesthetics
  • Smooth, quiet wheels
  • Thoughtful interior organization
  • Lightweight, spacious construction
  • Easily scuffed outer shell
  • Fragile shell cracking risk
  • Sticking telescopic handles
  • Finicky latches and locks

Monos earns polarized reviews: praised for sleek, lightweight designs, smooth wheels, smart organization (compression panels, front laptop pocket), and distinctive colors, yet criticized for fragile shells that scuff, dent, and crack, finicky or sticking telescopic handles, and inconsistent customer service and warranty experiences. Reviews indicate the luggage can work well—rolling smoothly and packing efficiently for frequent travel—but durability of the outer shell and hardware issues, plus slow responses, are recurring drawbacks to weigh before buying.

  • Very usable, love it. Wheels are smooth, the hardshell case was nice to have on the airplane and travelling.

  • Saved so much space and helped organize my clothing. Was also nice to separate dirty and clean clothes.

  • Bought this backpack to match my Purple Icing Carry-On Pro. She is a beauty! So sleek & mod! Great pockets inside. Wear on your back or slip it over the handle of your luggage. Love the set!

  • I LOVE my trunk. And I loved it even more when the wheel was damaged and the MONOS team was INCREDIBLY responsive. They took care of it in NO TIME. They have me for life.

  • My granddaughter was thrilled with this carry on for graduation. She loved the interior spaces and areas for all her items. The color was exquisite and came with a luggage cover.

  • My wife and I were excited about our new pieces of luggage. We thought we did our research for the perfect pieces. We did make a mistake when buying the monos. As soon as we put the suitcase on the ground, the handle immediately was not working correctly. It only extended part of the way. After reaching out to customer service, they sent me a video letting me know that if the suitcase is packed too full, then you needed to Lay the suitcase on the ground, press down in a certain area, and that will help extend the suitcase. If this is Unknown issue, why have they not fixed it yet? They also mentioned that the suitcase does not scratch easily at all. We have used the piece of luggage one time and it is heavily scratched from 1 flight. Our Costco luggage that we have had for years still does not show scratches and they were quarter of the cost. When I reach out to customer service, they mentioned that because we use the suitcase one time that we are not able for any type of refund or exchange. I would expect more for the prices and reputation of Monos.

  • Customer service is non existent. I do like the suitcases functionality but on the first trip with my carry on, both locks broke (that was just in January 2024) and I have been emailing and texting about it but do not receive any responses from Monos. They do not reply or respond. The warranty seems to be a joke. Also they really scuff very badly. I use the covers which get extremely black and oily. I do not know why they get so much dirtier than other suitcases. Buy Away suitcases!! B

  • THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! DON'T BUT FROM THEM! THEY SHORTSHIPPED MY ORDER AND I'VE BEEN SENDING A MILLIONS E-MAILS TO GET A REFUND AND IT'S THE MOST COMPLICATED THING EVER. WANNA RETURN SOMETHING? 15$ RETURN FEE. A T SHIRT? 20$ RETURN FEE!!! WHAT A JOKE

  • I have a Monos carry-on and I use the cover quite extensively. Thank goodness for the cover! I really like the suitcase. A interesting observation is that the cover is quite marred with black scapes and scuffs. My theory after watching it travel through the luggage carousel is that is never slides down to the rim. Everytime it has hung suspended in the middle of the belt. I believe it adheres to the belt. What this means to me is that during handling it’s more susceptible to friction thus more scrapes.

  • Just not worth the money. The suitcase itself is quite heavy when empty so whenever I am somehow allowed to take it onboard, it’s quite difficult to load into the overhead bin. It’s cute enough but the carry-on pro plus doesn’t fit the standards for a proper carry-on so I constantly get asked to check it at the gate. Add to this the fact that it marks very easily so every trip ends up with a bunch of black marks (my suitcase is light pink) and many of them are too stubborn to come off. Giving it 2 stars because ultimately it’s made well and the front pocket is very convenient but I think they still have a lot of room for improvement before it’ll be fully practical.

  • I purchased this bag in 2020 and have used it many times since. I bought the carry-on plus, but honestly wish I got the regular carry-on. The plus mostly takes away suitcase room and can’t fit much in there (aside from papers). It was definitely a big purchase for me at the time, but it has come in handy. Wheels have been good and not caused issues (which reviews on Away luggage said different about their wheels). I like the built in compression pad and there are lot of zipper pockets inside. The lock is very easy to use and is TSA friendly. I got the storm grey but wish I bought a brighter color. I’m sure I will buy another suitcase from Monos eventually!

  • My first bag was severely damaged by regular air travel. They did send a replacement but now that one is dented and the handle stuck after three trips. Monos has mono for quality luggage.

  • I have two suitcases: the carry-on and the medium size (checked), both in the champagne/pinky color. I love the suitcase, but the outer shell is not great. It is almost like a porous material that scuffs and marks easily. I'm okay with wiping down a suitcase but when I'm sent a magic eraser with my bag, I question it. I have used the medium suitcase for one trip and it already looks like it's about 3 years old. The customer service team took over two weeks to get back to me and suggested that I use a luggage cover when I check my bag. Reviews of the luggage cover are not good, plus, what's the point in that? Becausethe suitcase has been used, the customer service team will not do anything about it, claiming it's regular wear and tear. Here's my thought: they are creating issues by selling the suitcases that scuff easily, they don't have a great solution, and hence poor customer service, and overall customer resentment. They need to either refine their product and coating of the suitcases, or not sell colors that show the marks. It's not an inexpensive suitcase. For the price, it should be able to withstand the challenges with bag handling. I really wanted to support a Canadian company, but they are making it difficult.

  • Love the luggage, looks very nice and like the accessories for packing. BUT I was having an issue with one of the locks on the carry on bag, lock would not reset or come unlocked. I reached out to you support team over text message. They told me I put in the wrong code and that‚Äôs why it didn‚Äôt work. I tried explaining to them that this did not happen. Their only solution was for me to try 1000 different combination codes to see if it would unlock. After a number of tries I got pissed and through the bag in the trash!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! Would not recommend this product to anyone. I will use the checked bag but will not replace the carry on one.

  • Have traveled twice now with the medium check-in size. This was my first hard side suitcase, and I’m very happy with it. It rolls nicely. It’s very easy to pack, especially using the packing cubes the second time I forgot to use the cubes and it was just as easy to pack and keep organized. I got the Terrazzo color the only drawback there is it does get scuffed from the check in, but it’s easily cleaned with a magic eraser.

  • I was inspecting my old carry-on and noted that it had a bad wheel and crack from loaning it out to family. I usually am very easy with my as far as allows. I decided it was time for a new carry-on and decided to see what all the fuss was about. I ordered the purple icing color - nervous because of the glossy finish. I became a bit less nervous when I heard you can clean it with a magic eraser type sponge. Carry-ons are different because I will not put it through the abuse that a checked luggage would go through. This arrived quickly to my door and it was even prettier to look at in real time. Luggage is luggage, but I appreciate the aesthetic! It's simple and the features are super nice! Some people do not like the front zip pocket, but I love it. I want to carry my iPad, laptop, all the quick grab stuff and that is where it is going. The slim phone charger will fit in there in a zipper pocket. It zips flush with the rest of the body of the front of the case and the zippers do not stick out. As for the inside of the main compartment, I was able to fit about 12 days worth of outfits into the compression packing cubes that I also bought with a couple pair of shoes and a jacket and toiletries in small magnetic honeycomb-shaped toiletry containers. I practiced to see how much I could pack in my carry-on for an upcoming trip to Japan to see if I could get away with just a carry-on because I hate the idea of having another checked luggage go missing. I watched YouTube tutorials on packing and rolled and unrolled and re-rolled until it all fit. It can be done. Weight wise, just be careful. I don't need a lot. More is less for me. My trip is with friends and not for business. I will ultimately purchase a check-in luggage too. This one is a gem though!

  • I love the suitcase. It was a birthday gift for my adult son. He loves it. Thank you

  • Light weight, very good interior design with clothing press, smooth wheels and stylish colour!!

  • I absolutely love my carry-on. This suitcase seems to hold a ton of stuff I went to Honolulu for a week and everything fit (and I‚Äôm an over packerüòä). Light and gorgeous. I reviewed a lot of cases and made the right decision with my Monos about to purchase the backpack.

  • When the Rose Quartz Carry-On arrived the first thing I noticed is how the color and design are stunning. Once opened it became obvious that this suitcase is not just another pretty face. The construction and materials are top shelf. The handles are solid and wheels are strong and smooth. I expect that I won't have to replace this suitcase for a long, long time...if ever.
