Reviews mention

  • Sleek, minimalist aesthetics
  • Smooth, quiet wheels
  • Thoughtful interior organization
  • Lightweight, spacious construction
  • Easily scuffed outer shell
  • Fragile shell cracking risk
  • Sticking telescopic handles
  • Finicky latches and locks

Monos earns polarized reviews: praised for sleek, lightweight designs, smooth wheels, smart organization (compression panels, front laptop pocket), and distinctive colors, yet criticized for fragile shells that scuff, dent, and crack, finicky or sticking telescopic handles, and inconsistent customer service and warranty experiences. Reviews indicate the luggage can work well—rolling smoothly and packing efficiently for frequent travel—but durability of the outer shell and hardware issues, plus slow responses, are recurring drawbacks to weigh before buying.

  • I have the hard shell carry on and medium suitcase, received as a birthday gift and was extremely surprised. Really like the compartments and the compression “sleeve”. Great added bonus are the travel bags for shoes/dirty laundry. Knocked down to a 4/5 because when you really pack in the carry on the handle experiences some resistance to pull up. Haven’t had an issue with closing the suitcase when overflowing, only some resistance with the handle. Great quality and highly recommend! Update: Traveled a few more times now, love this suitcase so much and continue to receive questions about it at the airport. Had it mistakenly stolen off the baggage carousel, and would recommend additional identifiers to the bag. Yes it gets dinged up a lot but the provided sponge has scrubbed it all out.

  • I wanted a suitcase that didn’t look like everyone’s Away suitcase at baggage claim. I waited for a sale and got the carry on and check-in medium in terracotta. I get compliments on the color, but it does get scuffed up easily, which I don’t think is really avoidable for suitcases that aren’t black/dark grey. I was worried about the quality because it felt a thinner than Away, but I really stuffed both to the brim (like sitting on it to zip it up) on international trips and it surprisingly held up.

  • I recently bought the smallest carry on for a trip to portugal and was so happy with my new suitcase. We booked an economy airline and the smallest size met the carry on requirements. The suitcase was light and easy to role along the hilly, cobblestone streets. The suitcase is also raised enough off the wheels to prevent the bottom from dragging along uneven cobblestones (something that was happening with my friends Away suitcase).

  • I purchased the Metro Duffel in Nylon and have been using it for over a year now. I have traveled quite often with it and I can say that the item is durable and high quality. My favorite spec is the quick snap modular kit, I usually put all my airplane essentials in it, detach it and simply put it on the airplane seat pocket for easy access. The metro duffel also fits conveniently under the seat of the plane. The one star I deducted is the capacity of the duffel, it appears to be large enough and can store a lot of items but I find that because of the construction and rigidity of the bag I'm not able to put much items into it.

  • These bags look much more expensive than similar priced brands. I bought a medium check-in last year and just ordered a cary-on to match. I love them. I’m excited they changed the make of the duffel bag recently. I have the model from last year and the small magnets used to hold the luggage handle sleeve together is either not secured well or the fabric is too thick for the magnet to hold. Mine has fallen off.

  • These are my favorite luggage ever. I have the carry-on one with a pocket for my laptop on the front and its the best ever. Makes going through security SO easy!! Also love their warranty. A main reason I purchased!!

  • LOVE this suitcase. It fits so many things and has that additional pocked on the outside to fit anything else. I prefer this suitcase to the AWAY suitcase any day. They are also much more affordable, yet have the same quality.

Really great customer service and amazing product.

  • SCAM, don't buy it!! Damages easily, they do not honor the warranty.

  • I ordered the wrong item (absolutely my fault). I meant to order the weekender but instead I ordered the duffel. It was a gift for my mom for her 65th birthday. I reached out to their customer service a couple of days before to see if I ordered the right one (and paid the $50+ for express delivery) that hopefully someone could help ensure it got shipped out right away. That did not happen. There was no way to speak to a real person, just a bot. Even when the bot told me they were getting a real person, I'm pretty sure it was just a bot again. I had also reached out to them via email and no one ever got back to me. Just really unsympathetic and unhelpful. This is not the customer service of a company that is supposed to be a bit more luxury. Although I (admittedly) made an initial error in ordering, I was willing to pay for next-day delivery (and did pay $54CAD + tax for delivery in 1-2 business days), however, I did not receive my item when I needed it and instead had a really hard time dealing with customer service. I hate not being able to speak to someone. There's no accountability and no human kindness in the interaction.

  • I have about 1.5 million airline miles under my belt and have purchased all brands of luggage: the economical [e.g. Samsonite, American Tourister,] to the expensive [e.g. Hartman, Tumi, etc.] I purchased an entire 3-piece set of the Monos hybrid - carry-on, medium and large sizes in light silver along with two covers, one for the large and one for the medium in July 2023 for $1220 USD. The Pros - 1) The wheels are the best I've experienced. 2) Internal dividers can be opened and closed with a single hand. 3) The pull up handle is great and delivers the confidence that I won't be facing a pull up handle issue with this luggage. 4) The design is attractive as I depart for a trip. But buyer, beware... the pieces will look very different upon the return. The Cons - 1) My Monos polycarbonate shell for checked luggage repeatedly looks awful following travel. Monos sells covers for the luggage. The covers are even greater magnets for dirt. The large cover weighs 1.6 pounds so be sure to take that into consideration if planning on carrying close to the allowable weight maximum. Purchase Monos only if you enjoy hours of elbow grease cleaning covers or the luggage itself following every trip. And in that regard, I have tried them all: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser as one viewer recommended, cleansers combined with baking soda as another viewer recommended, and liquid cleansers. 2) The corner protectors do get bent. 3) The side and top handles are so tight, that most large handed individuals will have a hard time getting there hands under the handle to pick up the piece. 4) Finally, the combination wheels on the closures are difficult to turn and rotate without a knife. I have broken many nails attempting to turn the combinations to open the luggage. I wish they could spin with greater flexibility for I like the notion of those closures a great deal more than zippers that lose their zipper tag or can break altogether. Spent $1220 USD for the set. Wish my experience was better. If you are inclined to go Monos, I highly recommend selecting black. I suspect the beaten up look, scuffs and scrapes will be less apparent and you won't be as disappointed. Unfortunately, I view my three star rating as generous. I usually subscribe to praise in public; criticize in private. However, I have just spent hours again cleaning luggage following a return from last night and feel it is important to get this word out to other potential shoppers so they have a good handle on what they're buying into.

  • I was disappointed with the durability of my Monos suitcase. After just a few trips, the handle started sticking and the zipper began to snag. For the price point, I expected better quality.

  • I was initially impressed by the sleek design of my Monos luggage, but after just a few trips, the handle started sticking and eventually broke off completely. For the price point, I expected much better durability.

  • DON'T BUY MONOS PRODUCTS. We were debating between Monos and Away and ultimately went with Monos. HUGE MISTAKE. One suitcase came defective - with wheels that didn't work properly. Their "lifetime warranty" apparently does not apply to wheels that don't work - they will not be sending us a new one. Their customer service is HORRIBLE - taking forever to respond, and not helpful whatsoever. if you are also deciding between Monos and Away, do yourself a favor and CHOOSE AWAY.

  • Most of the products I have tried from the brand are really good quality. The designs are unique and innovative. They have good customer service. The only item that did not meet expectations was the luggage cover, it got torn in its first use, I did purchase a new one however and hope that it stands up this time.

  • Upon receiving the suitcase, I immediately noticed malfunctioned handle. This defect significantly hinders the functionality and usability of the suitcase, rendering it unfit for its intended purpose. As a loyal customer of Monos, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of quality control evident in this product. In light of this situation, I contacted your customer service department to request either a replacement or a refund for the defective suitcase. However, to my dismay, I was informed that Monos refuses to issue either a replacement or a refund for the faulty product. This response is unacceptable and does not align with the standards of customer service I have come to expect from your reputable brand. I want to emphasize that I have always held Monos products in high regard and have been a loyal customer for many years. However, the handling of this matter has left me feeling neglected and undervalued as a customer. I believe that it is the responsibility of Monos to stand behind the quality of its products and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Minimalist design, sleek, durable and best smooth wheels. Most recommended!

  • It is convenient being able to access my computer from the front. Nice interior space. I get so many compliments about the color (lavender from the Magnolia bakery collection).

  • This suitcase is worth every penny. Beautiful design and excellent quality

  • I recently purchased and received this item and have gone on several trips with it. I really like this carry-on. It rolls really well, has multiple heights for the handle, and is generally sturdy and spacious. It does scuff easily (I got dark green, so this is more noticeable) but I expect luggage to look worn over time. I am really loving the extra pouches and all the detailed features of this luggage.
