I am a huge fan of scents inspired by nature, and gravitate towards Maison Louis Marie as a brand for their attention to this. They also specialize is non-toxic perfumes and sustainable packaging, and are members of the fabulous 1% for the planet organization. I'm definitely here to support that!!! I love woody, earthy scents and was excited to try this one inspired by the perfumer's childhood home. I love scents because of their connection with memories and I think that this is an intimate expression of that. The top notes are sandalwood and cedarwood, mid notes are vetiver, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and the subtle base note is amber wood. Sounds like a lot right? The opening of sandalwood and cedarwood is somehow both true and light- it's not a heavy woody scent, despite being 100% woody. It carries more of a powdery tone, which really comes out in the dry-down. The vetiver, sandalwood, and amber wood start to shine after awhile, with a hint of spicy nutmeg and cinnamon. The spray is alcohol based, and doesn't linger long on skin, but has great staying power on clothing. This smells like a luxury perfume, but it very affordable for the quality it provides. It's a true unisex fragrance as well (trees are for everyone hahaha). It's become a staple in my household and I look forward to not only purchasing this one again, and discovering more from the house of Maison Louis Marie. Well done.
