Maev earns polarized reviews: many report shinier coats, improved digestion, higher energy, and eager eating—especially with the Beef Skin & Coat Blend and vitamin bars—while others cite dogs refusing the food, stomach upsets, and weight loss. Reviews also praise the scoop-and-serve frozen format and visible ingredients but flag inconsistency in formulas, thawed arrivals, and difficulty canceling or getting refunds, making results and experience uneven.

⚠️ Warning to Pet Parents! ⚠️ I had a very disappointing experience with Maev Dog Food that I feel obligated to share. Despite canceling my subscription, Maev still charged my credit card for an order I never approved. I never received the supposed email reminder they claimed to have sent and only found out about the charge when my credit card company alerted me. After a long back-and-forth with customer service, they refused to issue a refund—even though I had clearly canceled and had no room or need for the order. I've been a loyal customer, but clearly, that means nothing. Their customer service is unaccommodating and unhelpful, and they take no responsibility for their system errors. This is not how a reputable company should treat its customers. 💔 I do not recommend Maev. There are plenty of other dog food brands out there that respect their customers—and their money. #Maev #DogFood #CustomerServiceFail #PetOwnersBeware #DogMom #NotRecommended

I completely canceled my subscription decided to go with another company. I have confirmation emails of canceled subscription in October 24 and then 4 months later my subscription was reinstated by MAEV and dog food was shipped out w out my authorization! Completely unacceptable. Would not use them going forward. Be on the lookout if anyone has recently canceled.

Extremely inconsistent. Been a customer for 6 months. First shipment was great 2nd shipment was late despite signing up for subscription and running out on the day we planned to-had to buy dog food from the store. 2nd shipment was 1.5 weeks late. 3rd shipment was charged 12/20 and suppose to arrived 25th of December (scheduled 10lbs for every 4 weeks) arrived jan 10th. Reached out and was told that this company essentially takes the last 2 weeks of December off. Cool. 4th shipment arrived on time, but between the 2 10 pound bags there was 5 lbs of green beans. We complained only to be told we didn’t mix the bags well enough. The packaging they provide is cheap and doesn’t hold up in the freezer for too long, so we transfer each bag into 2 freezer bags first thing when we get it, that’s exactly why we noticed a high volume of only green beans and picked out and weighed 5lbs of it out of 2 10 lbs bags. We were suppose to get our 6th shipment mid last week and spoiler alert it’s been 7 days and it hasn’t even shipped yet. This company is not reliable and hyper inconsistent and we went ahead and canceled this last shipment. Don’t even bother with this company unless you want to starve your dog on a green bean diet or assume you will have to buy secondary food every month.

Although my dogs love eating this, it’s too soon to tell if they have any side effects. I decided to try it when a close friend. Highly recommended it. They have a referral program and I used the link that was given to me so that she can get the referral. For two days. I have been arguing with customer care because they refuse to give her the referral when clearly she is the one who referred me. They claim that I did not use her special link! Talk about micromanage?? in today’s day. There are many other raw dog food that are just as good. I’m going to continue doing my research and they will lose me as a customer if they do not give my friend the credit that she deserves and is owed. Their food might be the best food but if their customer care sucks, I want no parts of it!

We have an account with Maev for two large breed dogs. FOOD is great. Customer service is horrible. Since joining, I have had to chase down our second dogs delivery every single time. No exaggeration, every single time. Most recently, I received a notice that my order was processed. The order that they processed was a box. A box with no food. Just a box. But I didn't get the box, I was just charged for the box. CELINE is the customer care agent I believe is handling my account as she is the person who responds. Responds with "here is what I show your order says. Which one needs to be shipped?" Why wouldn't she look at the order history and know this? And then "sorry can't get your order out till Monday, holiday schedule may cause delay" . My dogs are currently out of food (I placed an expediated order on the 25th). I will make food to get us through, at a rough estimate of $300. This is on top of what they are already charging me. So again, while the food is great, there are massive customer care issues that may cost you even more than the food, which is already expensive. My advice.. go elsewhere. Update: another shipping delay due to "inventory" which normally is done so that the customer is not affected. We had purchased an extra box in the event there was another delay, and we have two bags left. Received a "great news, we will be back on track next week and will let you know when you can expect your delivery" . We've canceled our subscription and have moved on. Once again, really good dog food, such bad operations management. My original thought of "go elsewhere" still stands.

My dogs love this food. The problem is that in the summer months, they do not ship in a timely manner and the food arrives defrosted. You would think that they would have rectified the issue as the only way you can get maev is online. So unfortunately , due to poor shipping schedules or the extra expense for 2 day shipping, this great dog food is being kicked to the curb.

Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. If you’re running out of dog food it takes forever to get some shipped so your dog is just stuck without food for days, it’s also in NO retail stores so it’s impossible to go and get some. After trying to email and call, I’ve gotten a generic email response and a phone call that said she apologized. I still do not have dog food or a response. Think twice before switching to this dog food.

Despite following instructions, both my dogs had terrible digestive issues with Maev. When I asked to cancel, they did cancel my subscription but went ahead and processed the next order . I had reached out prior to the order being processed but somehow they processed anyway and shipped... Highly expensive order and now I'm stuck with pounds of food that make my dogs ill. Most rescues won't accept the raw food because of food borne illness. Definitely not worth it .

My miniature schnauzer loved the food and I think he was doing well on it. However, I had to cancel due to constant shipping issues. In the middle of winter, I had 6 bags in a row arrived completely thawed, no dry ice was ever in the box, plain cardboard box (not insulated as advertised) and the smell of raw meat was so overwhelming I had to dispose of it immediately. Customer service tried three times to get me my order not ruined, but after the 3rd try I cancelled. I have had this dog food for months before this with no issue. Not sure what changed but I can't feed my dog spoiled food. It's a shame. (No I don't live in an out of the way place with slow delivery either) I get overnight packages all the times with no issues.

Neither of my dogs will touch this food. I called Maev and they said they see this all the time. They recommend that I add diced boiled chicken and they would then eat it then. Flat out scam. Don’t buy it.

My dog was not a fan of this food. She picked out bits of it, but left most in the bowl and it melted into a smelly slop. Also, be careful, if your dog doesn't eat everything before you leave for work, they will be left with rotting raw meat all day. When I inquired about a return policy or some kind of refund, I was disappointed to find that this company had zero consideration for how much money I wasted. Would have been nice to at least get a partial refund. I'm out almost $300 and they will simply move on to the next unlucky customer.

Pros: - Convenient deliver - My dog really enjoys it and its good for him Cons: - Expensive - Says cancel anytime but there aren't any instructions on how to cancel and you can't cancel from the site without speaking with a customer service rep. - It will automatically enroll you in a subscription if you don't pay attention. The site doesn't make it easy to just order one thing.

The food is great but it is UNBELIEVABLY EXPENSIVE. My dog goes through 10 bags a month and is 75lbs. That’s $350/month. No thanks. I now buy all the meat/ organs/ protein/ fruits/ veggies etc in bulk for $125 at Costco. If you have an hour each month to prepare the food and freeze it on your own, you are better off.

Maev transformed feeding time for my dog. He gets so excited for every meal, and is sure to remind me at the exact minute that it is feeding time. The subscription and fast shipping make it effortless to keep the freezer full of Maev, and it is so easy to feed. I'm recommending Maev to every dog parent I talk to.

My dog Yoli has been loving Maev for a couple of years now. She is 9 years old and has turned into a puppy again. She gets super excited every time she hears the bag crumple as it is coming out of the freezer. She no longer has any issues using stairs anymore, Really incredible watching the Maeve transformation happening. I am excited to see the effects of the supplement bars next! Thank You Maev!

We absolutely love Maev! Our dog is not only super finicky but also has a sensitive tummy (I'm guessing they are related!). We were trying to figure out how to address our dog's diet issues and we learned about Maev via a recommendation. First things first - this is stuff is totally unprocessed! Which is fabulous. You can see what your pup is getting and the first ingredient is beef. And I trust the company's sourcing (you get what you pay for!). Second, my dog absolutely loves this stuff. He will eat it both frozen and a bit thawed & enjoys is no matter what way it comes. Last, everyone's favorite topic: POOP. Poop is totally different on Maev. Smaller and more formed. Given that our pup has had the tummy troubles...picking up poop on a walk has been a puddle-y disaster. But not on Maev! The biggest adjustment (which is not actually very big) is portioning out Maev vs.. kibble. But there's been zero adjustment period for our pup. Just only pure happiness.

My dogs absolutely LOVE this food. They both get so excited over feeding times now and eat it all without hesitation. My dogs used to be grazers and didn’t like their food, would just eat if they were hungry enough. Also from a user perspective, it’s so easy. No mess, just as easy as scooping kibble.

The Beef Skin & Coat Blend has become my dog's absolute favorite for all the right reasons. The convenience factor is unbeatable - no more mess or prep time! The emphasis on protein-rich, raw food has visibly improved my dog's skin and coat. His fur is shinier and softer than ever before.

You’ve introduced something that is easy, ready with identifiable ingredients that is also filled with the supplements needed for my bulldog. As a Frenchie with severe text book illnesses, he loves this food. My dogs energy is different and more vibrant. I can’t recommend this food enough. It will take time, but after a month the progress shows.

I have a Belgian Tervuren. He was fed kibble for his first year as recommended by his breeder. He experienced constant digestive issues, throwing up, diarrhea. He became uncomfortable and aggressive. I finally had enough of the kibble and started cooking food for him. His poop and mood improved drastically. After determining that it was the kibble causing his problems, my friend referred me to Maev. I started mixing his Maev with brown rice and bone broth and I mean he LOVED it! No more throwing up, no loose stools, a clean bowl and a much more appreciative, less aggressive pet. The food looks gorgeous and is easy to ro serve. My pup likes it frozen so it is Uber convenient. I still mix in my own stuff, including bone broth from Costco, from time to time as it is an expensive brand and I need to make it last. I would definitely feed him all Maev if the price was more reasonable. But it is definitely worth trying. I personally feel better feeding him high quality food. I gave bags of kibble away after starting Maev and will never feed my dog kibble again. Highly recommend.
