I purchased two of the Lojel Voja suit cases; a checkin and large size. Unfortunately the cases arrived just as the pandemic began and it was over a year until I was able to use the larger size case. During the first trip, one of the wheels fell off and I realized it was missing 1 /4 screws at the wheel when it was manufactured. I submitted a warranty request and they mailed me a new wheel with screws and assured me the larger screws would hold the wheel in place. I should have known better but now the wheel has fallen off again and I can’t get a response from Lojel. I have upcoming travel I’m wishing I had purchased a more reputable brand. Save your $$$!

Wonderful products but terrible customer service. The advertised 10 year 'warranty' isn't really a warranty after the first year. The customer service team offered one thing and then changed their mind, this is the third incredibly poor experience with the customer service, which is a shame when you pay for a premium product to receive sub-standard service.

I have the cubo carryon and it is the best suitcase I've ever had.  On par with the quality of monos and away, but the design is much better.  It has those special Japanese wheels that just glide and are very sturdy.  I have pulled it across cobblestones without issue.  The very best thing about this bag is that it is a hardcase that opens like a softsided suitcase. No more clam shell. It fits on hotel luggage racks, it doesn't take up half the hotel room or cruise cabin to open it.  

Other reviewers have complained about the customer service, but I can't speak to that as I have not needed to contact them.  

Someone also mentioned the lining being to small to expand if needed and mine is not that way, it has plenty of room to expand. 

Others have also complained about the zipper being difficult and mine was at first too, but it loosened up after several uses and is no longer a problem.  The same thing with the handle- it took a few uses to lose up and now it is perfect.  Those are both temporary issues that are completely outweighed by the top opening feature in my opinion. 

Also,  I should mention the built in computer section is removable so if you don't travel with your computer or want it in a different bag you can have more room in the carry-on.  

The best bag I have ever had.

We liked the design concept and of course the “10 Year Warranty”….. turns out the bags are just ok and have a few design flaws (especially the smaller hand carry bags). As for the 10 year warranty - well it’s not. It’s 1 year then somethings that’s kind of worthless!

The expansion zip for our Cubo Fit broke. Contacted customer service. Was  informed  that would cost $10 to repair, but they had no replacement zippers in stock and wouldn’t have until at least 4 months. 4 MONTHS!!! To make it worse, they said they do not reserve the parts for you, so I need to keep raising a ticket and hopefully will be a part available. What a joke.

Took the bag to a local bag repair shop. Job completed for same price and done while I waited. 

Fantastic suitcase. I bought the Lojel Cubo fit plus the Cubo medium size. I have just completed a 10 week trip across africa and europe doing 11 different countries on 16 different flights and my Cubo medium Lojel has performed superbly. The expansion zip at the end of my trip worked worked well to fit in all my last minute souvenirs to bring home. The expansion material is thick and secure too. Super happy with my purchases. As soon as you purchase one, register your warranty and receipt online. Its just easier and more efficient if you ever had to reach out to customer service. 

DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!!

This concept makes a lot of sense but Lojel really messed up the execution. 

1) The interior lining is too small for the shell. This stands out when you have it expanded and no matter how much stuff you put in, you will never be able to fill in the corners of the shell because the lining material is only as big as the opening and only as deep as it is unexpanded.

2) The zippers are poorly designed, the angle of the pull tag makes it extremely to difficult to unzip. You need to make sure you're holding it at the right angle before it opens. 

I'm a weekly business flyer and purchased 3 of these for my family.

As a weekly business traveler that flies out Monday and flies home Friday, I'm pretty particular about my luggage. I like the concept of the opening but there are two very fundamental pitfalls that make this bag a terrible piece of luggage. 


I like how the design saves space when it's opened. When you travel, you'd never know what your hotel room is actually like. In a way, it takes the stress away from unforeseen circumstances. I used it for two international flights (17 hours each way and 6.5 hours each way) and trains (6-7 trips). It was sturdy enough for those trips. Mine is yellow, the colour really pops so I could spot my luggage when it arrived on the luggage belt. 

I had high hopes for the Lojel Cubo, as it was raved about online, but my experience with it was disappointing to say the least. 

My Lojel suitcase’s handle got stuck on its very first trip (less than 2 weeks after I bought it) which is ridiculously short given the rather high price point of this product. I then had to deal with extremely unhelpful customer service from Lojel, who were unable to (i) send me replacement parts in time (I was told it would take more than 5 days, which is ridiculous because how often do you stay in one place when you travel, especially for business travel?); (ii) insisted on proof of purchase to help further (who carries receipts with them when they travel? What is the point of serial numbers then? And shouldn’t the priority be on solving the issue rather than insisting that people pay for maintaining the product?): and (iii) gave conflicting advice on whether I needed to pay for repairs). 

As I could not get proper recourse, I posted on Lojel’s Instagram, but am now unable to find my original comment on its page. 

I hope that Lojel relooks its customer service instead of trying to fob off customers, and would work to being committed to improving customers’ experience. I had high hopes for Lojel due to the good reviews and good design, and while I still believe that Lojel’s products are well designed, this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
