When I'm looking for a minimalist, practical, and reasonably priced piece of furniture, I tend to look to IKEA - aside from the assembly process which is usually not ideal because nothing from IKEA from assembled to any degree - I do really enjoy the pieces I've gotten from there. Do I think it's high quality furniture that will last forever? Absolutely not - this is more so "for now" furniture.
