I know Summer has truly begun when I open a bottle of Hei Poa monoi oil! This year, I've chosen to celebrate the season with the vanilla scented version - which is a subtle, gourmand vanilla that just leaves a kiss of ice-creamy sweetness, along with the gorgeous, light gardenia-style smell of the base oil. The oil is solid below 24°c (just run the closed bottle under warm water and then it liquifies) but this very hot summer it's been already melted and ready to go every morning, and I've loved the ritual of smoothing on the coconut-oil based formula; enjoying the way it glides and quickly smooths into my skin. I also love to use it on my hair: where the slightest touch of this gorgeous product smooths summer frizz and softens my locks, while leaving an aroma that will be forever linked with Summer in my mind.
