Ffern earns polarized reviews: the brand delights many with beautiful, sustainable packaging, seasonal concepts, and long-lasting wear for some, but frustrates others with scents that read similar, fleeting, or unpleasant and a subscription that feels hard to cancel. Reviews of Ffern highlight the joy of the unboxing and tester vial, yet recurring complaints cite sameness across releases, inconsistent longevity, and convoluted cancellation/return flows—making it a considered gamble for buyers.

I had seen Ffern on Instagram for a long time and the small batch, sustainability, and elegance of the whole ledger process really appealed to me. I've been wearing the same perfume for 26 years and have tried, unsuccessfully, to find an addition to my scent repertoire. I was added to the ledger some time after being added to the waitlist and receive my first bottle in September 2024. I must admit it was SO different from my normal scent but I liked it and decided to keep the bottle. I'm so glad I did! The scent stays on my skin all day long when most evaporate within hours and I felt like I always smelled like Fall. I just received their Winter 25 bottle and I'm over the moon with it. It's fresh, soothing, and again, so different from what I've worn for decades. I'm keeping it too. It is a higher price point but I'm delighted to wear a small batch perfume that isn't available at every beauty counter, is unique, and has so much thought go into creating/explaining the intent behind the scent and of course the elegant package with a tester to make sure I really do want to keep it. I will stay on the ledger for sure and enjoy the many "personalities" of a Ffern scent.
My first Ffern perfume received was a disaster. I received my first shipment on 9-18-24. I was excited because it contained Davana, which I love. I used the sample over a period of 2 weeks and found it to be an odd scent and the odor came back stronger and weirder after washing my clothing. It was nauseating. I never touched or opened the main perfume package just the sample. I wrote and asked for a refund. We’ll see how that goes and I’ll update this later. Update: No, they wouldn't refund. Lesson: Request refund immediately. Don't hope the scent will get better - it won't. They're great at marketing, but they are NOT perfumiers. Others are reporting that each season smells the same. Wonder how long this will last?

I didn’t know it was a subscription so they get you there, I’ve gotten two different scents and they were AWFUL honestly I can’t even describe how bad that was. I returned the first bottle, they refunded, then I thought I was done, since it was subscription they sent another one in 3 months! Unsubscribing is not easy obviously, when I finally did it, the last amount they never refunded, they said “they are making a scent for me already” so it will be shipped out, which never did. I still think this brand must be a joke or an experiment because it is absolutely the worst.
Wow. I can't say enough good things about this company. I've owned a 5-star spa for the last 22+ years. We're all about the experience we immerse our clients in and the clean aromatic blended scents are most important. I have experienced the best of the best aromatherapy and natural eua de parfum companies around the world for our signature scent for the spa. Ffern has, hands-down, surpassed them all on so many levels. Mind-blowingly exquisite scents that literally lasts longer on the skin than any other I've experienced. Hard to find this attention to details and real human beings in this world these days. Their brand goes beyond, it exudes the finest beauty; the story, marketing materials, the unboxing , customer service - it's all part of the beautiful experience we all deserve. ... And if it's not for you, you can return it! Simple. They offer a sample in each order to try first. Who does that?! I highly recommend this company.

I love everything about Ffern, their sustainable practices and packaging, receiving a beautiful package with a unique fragrance each season feels like such a luxury! I didn’t enjoy Autumn 23, I felt it leaned a bit more masculine, so I gave it to my partner who enjoyed it. Winter 24 is definitely more feminine and is such an elegant combination of fresh winter scents. Receiving my package every season is such a small luxury and I love how Ffern collaborates with artists, farmers, and craft artisans to really provide such a lovely package of goodies for their ledger members each season.

I loved the little clip about the perfume pink sky at night and was curious . I just received the fragrance and it’s a huge deception . I don’t know how to describe it except it reminds me of 15 years old perfumes my grand ma wanted to give me . It is not fresh and thank god it does not last more than 5 minutes ! I will never buy a perfume without trying!

Do not recommend. Overpriced - you're paying for the big fat marketing budget. The perfumes themselves are not at all consistent - 2 out of 4 were okay but for the money they really aren't worth it. There is a lot of effort in podcasts, print, stories, films - but the perfumes just don't seem very sophisticated. Winter 2025 was awful - just strong nutmeg - and Summer 2025 literally smelled like urine as a base. I complained and was told it was because I wasn't applying it close enough to my skin. At the end of the day there are better options available, and this is all about false scarcity - apply for their exclusive ledger and go the 'huge' waiting list- and you'll be on in days . Save your money.

The first fragrance was love at first smell. It was not something I’d choose for myself but I did love it. Unfortunately the next two were awful and way too floral to the point that it affected my allergies. The third subscription was a candle and perfume I decided to return because I didn’t like the smell and they arrived damaged. I sent it back with the shipping label they provided and apparently it was never scanned by usps as being received. I’m still fighting them over this. For the perfume and the candle it was something like $280? And not I’m out the money and the products that were allegedly lost in the mail. This is so frustrating!
