Dollar Shave Club reviews assert the brand once worked very well but recent changes make it worse: many customers praise convenient subscriptions and shave butter, yet most report that the new Club-series blades and lighter handles shave poorly, dull quickly, and sometimes detach mid-shave.

Loved Dollar Shave Club before they switched to a new blade. Current blades are cheap, low quality, and don’t provide a good shave. Very disappointed. Will be switching to a new brand.

Dollar Tree's club is not like it used to be that races have changed. There's no side burn raising normal and I do not get achieved like I used to years ago. I will be switching of course to a higher brand because dollar shave cause does not fit my needs. No more and it's a shame.

Quality razors.. get the upgraded ones. Last a long time and give good clean shave. Their lotions and other products are good as well. Very easy to change your shipment or delay it if needed. Great customer support.

Same as others. The old blades were great, I could get 3 or 4 uses out of them shaving my head, face and neck. The new blade quality is terrible. I barely got my head shaved with 1 new razor. Not a member any longer.

As many have reported, I've been a DSC member for several years and always liked the quality of the shave as well as the cost/value. Since they changed things up, not only am I not a fan, I've been frustrated with their website. On two occasions, I've ended up getting deliveries that I didn't want. The website was down for days and I couldn't reschedule the delivery while another time a delivery change I made apparently was ignored. Bottom line, the new handle is cheap and the blades DO NOT give a good shave. I'll be canceling the membership and changing to another provider.

Have been a member for years and loved the old blade. The new blade is the cheapest and worst razor I’ve ever used. I’m so disappointed. The razor blade keeps falling off because of poor manufacturing. So a week into using, I put a new blade on it and same thing kept happening. It does not even do a clean shave. I reached out to customer service to let them know and to see if the could just keep sending me the old blade, but zero response. So not only is it a bad product, but now it’s poor customer service. I’m canceling my membership if I don’t hear back from them within the next week to let me know I can receive blades for the original razor.

The original blade were awessome. Once the company changed ownership, the blade quality really suffered.

I’ve had dollar shave club since 2015 and this year they change their executive blade. It’s clear they cheapened their product while gradually raising the prices over the years. Typical business model, would not recommend

I've used DSC for many, many years, and I've loved the razors and handles. Never had any issues with them becoming dull quickly or the razor heads popping off the handles. I received the new handle and blades a few months ago. I struggle for some reason to get the blade heads onto the handle, and even once they're on, they pop off if you breathe wrong. Also, they seem to get dull much more quickly and just don't shave as cleanly as the old style. I don't like to have to repeatedly go over my legs and armpits to try and get a close shave, especially when it has only been a few days since I last shaved at the most. In my opinion, they aren't worth the money anymore, previously I recommended them to everyone but I can't say that now. I'm looking for a new brand to try while hoping they'll bring back the old style.

I liked the old style, this new style isn't worth the money, for me. I'll be looking for a new brand and hoping they'll bring back the old style.

I was VERY hopeful for DSC. I had checked reviews, comparisons etc. I had read that it was comparable to Gillette which is the current shaver I use. Due to costs of replacement blades, I was looking elsewhere. So I tried DSC. At first glance, it looked great. However, the packaging was the best part of the purchase. On the packaging it had said “you wish you’d be able to shave 9x a week!” And after my experience, Im guessing you’d NEED to shave 9x a week with the poor quality it actually is. I got the starter pack bundle with 8 blades, handle, shower holder and blade cover. The blades looked and felt super flimsy but I was willing to give it a chance. The shower holder wouldn’t hold the handle and it kept falling, adding the blade cover that would just pop off anytime it fell. Now to the shave experience…. I lathered up like usual. With my Gillette, it was a single glide and I’d get down to skin. With DSC blades, it was 3-4 times in the same area! It took me 3x as long to shave and I even had to go back over it with my DULL Gillette blade which still gave a smooth shave. I used a shower gel and when I tried to shave, it literally felt like I was on dry skin. I figured it might have been the shower gel, so I used shave gel AND also tried shave cream. I got the same result, it felt like I was shaving on dry skin. I even changed to 4 different blades, thinking it may have been a faulty blade. Nope. I do not recommend. I will be canceling my subscription for replacement blades.

The overall quality of blades needs some serious upgrading. If my experience was just with a woman’s hair, I can’t imagine how it is for men who have thicker and more hair.

I’ve been a customer with DSC for about 7 years and never had a complaint, until they changed the product. The new razor heads feel like a cheap disposable. The whole time I was shaving with the new blade for the first time, all I could think was that I was going to have horrible razor burn. Maybe it’s better on the face than on legs, but I’m done with DSC. I’ll be switching to Billie when I finish this pack (if I can even get through it).

Been using DSC for years. Just recently changed the handle and blades. Terrible decision...

The blade design you had until 2023 was great. This new style is crap

They used to be amazing. Best razors ever with the 5 blade Executive. After the forced switch to the club razors I can't get a clean shave unless I go against the grain and push. These six blade shit bag razors are only good for peach fuzz.
Feedback
If they get rid of the club and bring back the executive, I'm back in a heartbeat. Until then, I won't waste my money.

The rule: If it is not broken, don't try to fix it applies to the new Club Series blades. I've been a subscriber of DSC since 2013, the new Club Series blades are terrible! The new handle design is great, BUT, the Club Series blades can't even follow the contour of your face effectively, let alone cut whiskers.
Feedback
Definitely should have tested the new blade design with their subscribers. I'm no expert, but angle the blades up maybe, rather than so flush. They should bring back their previous blade design and have it work with the new handle.

I've been using the older executive blade for several years and loved the Great shave, but the blade they recently changed is puré garbage very poor shave,I'll be trying Harrys shave club now

Their shipping is spot on. DSC just switched razors within the last couple months. The new razors don’t do a very good job at all. They either need to go back to the old razors or I’m switching brands.

They need to go back to the razors that they just switched from. The new razors are terrible.

DSC replaced their standard 6 blade razor with an over all new handle and razor design, it looks and handles very well, but, the razor is "much" more aggressive, so much much on my face that I had to stop using it. I have tried it for four weeks and have had trouble with each blade. The individual blades are separated further apart to allow for easier removal of the soap, It has caused many ingrown hairs. I am sure many will love it, but it is not for me, I prefer the old model.

Offer both the "old" and the "new".

Best razor on the market for the price and convenience

Finally decided to give them a try. I won't get into the pros and cons, just the reason for the 1/5. Before I was finished with my first shave, the blade just popped off. It took several...SEVERAL tries to reattach it, only for it to fall off again. So I thought it might be a defective blade. The second wasn't making any better headway, so I stuck with the first only for it to keep popping off. I stumbled upon this site to see what others were experiencing and found many others had the same issue. I bought it at wally world and I'm stuck with this thing now since I threw the receipt away.

Avoid the brand. Just stay away.

They used to be a good company. They get bought out and everything goes down hill. They discontinued the only good blades they had, then they sent me their new blades and you might as well be using a disposable razor. Trying to communicate with them is next to immposible. Email-No Way, Chat-Only during a small window, Bot-Heck ya, and Phone-What are you kidding.

Bring back the good blades and have a live human to talk to.
