Date Better earns enthusiastic reviews for decadent, chocolate‑covered Medjool dates with standout flavors like Snickerdoodle, Hazelnut Praline, Peanut Butter Crunch, and Cashew Lime Crisp, confirming the brand tastes great and feels indulgent. Reviews also flag consistent drawbacks: only two dates per box, occasional muted or overpowering fillings, and a portion size that makes the experience feel expensive despite beautiful, gift‑ready packaging.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
I loved the packaging and was immediately drawn to the concept - a lot of US-based chocolate and dessert companies have yet to use dates in their recipes and as someone who grew up eating them, I was excited to see something new in the space. The taste was rich and delicious and I love the different flavor profiles offered.

Maybe I’m jaded and used to high prices, but for the complete experience and package of the product, I didn’t think the price was absurdly high for what it is. It is definitely on the higher end and I wouldn’t be able to buy this all the time, but would make a beautiful little gift. I would also love to know more about the founders and their relationship to medjool dates.

I think these are so tasty and obviously love the packaging but I just wish there was more in the box for the price. I know dates can be expensive but these are generally pretty easy to make at home for a fraction of the price
First things first, the flavour is AMAZING. The dates are so fresh and the peanut butter crunch reminds me of a Snickers x Reese's (perfect combo IMO). However, you only get two per pack (I was assuming it would be four, even given the size of the box) which makes it a pretty expensive snack when you want a sweet treat. I grabbed a box when I saw them at my local boutique grocer, but I was SHOCKED when I was rung up and saw the price. Delicious? Yes. Expensive? Also yes, especially when this kind of snack is so easy to make at home. I love supporting a local biz here in my hometown of LA, but dang.
Echoing what others have said — yes, they're delicious, and the branding is lovely, but the price point is on another planet!
I bought a box of these on a whim while I was browsing the snack selection at Big Night in Brooklyn, NY and it was easily my best purchase of the day- the cashew lime crisp flavor is out of this world! Dates never tasted so good.

My only complaint is that you only get two pieces in each box when I could have easily devoured an entire bag full of these... I want more! The price is also a bit steep as other reviewers have pointed out.

These were good in the way that all dates are. Caramelly, inherently gooey, and a natural match for chocolate and nuts. But were they $3 or more per date good? No. Did I feel absolutely ridiculous when I opened the package to find that it contained just 2 dates? Yes. I appreciate the quirky packaging and recognize that they are plussing up the flavor profiles but I could make something just about as tasty in much higher volumes for a lower price point in my own kitchen. In fact, so many people are nowadays, to the point that I had assumed chocolate-covered dates had jumped the shark long ago.

Give me more dates per package and a lower price point.
