  • The packaging and towels are very good quality; that alone is 5/5 stars ⭐. I find it very hard to find good quality facial towels and I've never found one that compares. I don't like how microfiber feels but this one is soft, thick, and clearly well sewn (no loose threads). The face mask is nice ($20) but it also is two ingredients that can likely be made at home for less (French clay and matcha). The company claims the facial oil "plays nice with all skin types". Yet it contains grapefruit oil (photo toxic) and bergamot oil (common allergen and photo toxic). I like brands mission but the cleanser doesn't seem to represent it nor meet the great claims being made. Perhaps with their formula it is not photo toxic, I don't know enough about skincare formulation and I got my information from the website incidecoder.

  • Not a science based formula, just a bunch of random oils. Made me break out. Bottle dropper creates alot of waste. There’s better oil cleansers out there for your money. This is the equivalent to buying low rent olive oil.

What is CRUDE?

CRUDE makes gentle, soap-free skincare products using sunflower oil and aloe vera to reduce inflammation.

In their own words

CRUDE is on a mission to unf*ck your flora with soapless, detergent-free skincare formulated to cleanse the skin without stripping or disrupting its microbiome. CRUDE uses minimal, organic, plant-based ingredients that work with the skin rather than trying to outsmart it. The brand is safe for all ages and skin types and has helped thousands of customers around the world say goodbye to their acne and inflammatory skin conditions for good. Now a Master Esthetician of 12+ years, Denise Cartwright developed CRUDE in her kitchen in 2014 after an experiment with oil-cleansing cleared her acne breakouts. She left her esthetics job to offer oil-cleansing facials out of her apartment, and the hype spread quickly. Friends and clients started posting their testimonials and acne before & afters online, and within six months she helped more people heal their acne using her oil-cleansing system than she had in six years using the industry’s most cutting-edge products and treatments. This reality got her questioning the foundations of our modern skincare protocols, and her research and experimentation led her to conceive and formulate CRUDE’s entire line of soapless, detergent-free, flora-friendly self care products. Recently, Denise founded and is the executive director for a coalition focused on Saving Our Great Salt Lake, with a focus on inspiring individual activism to help change legislation.
