Clinique Reviews

4.2

Clinique earns largely positive reviews as a reliable, sensitive-skin–friendly staple with standout icons like Take The Day Off Balm, Moisture Surge, Dramatically Different “yellow” lotion, Lash Power Mascara, and Black Honey. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some cleansers and balms feel drying on drier skin, certain formulas (gloss, Beyond Perfecting foundation, mascara) can be sticky, heavy, or dry out quickly, and several note dated innovation and mixed long‑term results.

  • I’ve been really impressed with this foundation. It feels lightweight on my skin but still gives me enough coverage to even everything out without looking heavy or cakey. It blends easily, wears well throughout the day, and leaves my skin looking smooth and natural. I also love the added SPF 25.

  • I bought this as my usual (drunk elephant slaii cleansing balm) was out of stock. It’s the same principle: an oil-based ‘balm’ (whatever that is) that one slathers on and rinses off with warm water. It’s fine, but more drying on my (more mature) skin than the aforementioned D.Elephant version. Probably great for people with more oily skin. I’ll use it up, but won’t repurchase

  • The smell of this line of products is amazing and very fresh, it gives off spa vibes and the feeling of having slices of cucumber on my eyes. It’s very cooling but I would recommend researching the ingredient list first to ensure it’s a right fit.

  • I’ve tried a couple of Clinique products and had mixed feelings about them. The Moisture Surge 100H cream is nice and hydrating. I usually apply it after showering and it leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable. That said, I wouldn’t say it’s some miracle product like many influencers claim. It’s a good moisturizer, but not something super extraordinary in my experience. I also tried the Beyond Perfecting foundation + concealer. For my oily skin it feels quite heavy, and if you don’t prep your skin really well it can even look a bit patchy or flaky. The coverage is actually pretty good, but overall I wasn’t very impressed with it as a foundation. I ended up using it more as a concealer instead, and for that it works okay.
