Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • So much fun for the adults in your life! We play every new years (and randomly throughout the year) and everyone looks forward to it every year.

  • Man, Cards Against Humanity is an absolute blast! I can't get enough of it, especially when playing with my teenage kids. It's become our go-to game for some quality family time, and let me tell you, the laughs are non-stop. The best part about it is how it brings out the humor in all of us. The game is just so damn funny, and it's like a guaranteed good time. The witty and sometimes downright outrageous combinations that come up make for some unforgettable moments. It's like the ultimate icebreaker, and we end up cracking up like crazy. I also appreciate the variety in the cards. There's a perfect mix of clever, edgy, and downright absurd. It keeps the game interesting, and you never know what's coming next. Plus, the simplicity of the rules makes it easy for anyone to jump in and start having a good time. Now, onto the improvement bit. Sometimes, I wish there were even more expansion packs or customization options. Don't get me wrong; the base game is fantastic, but after a while, you start craving some fresh content. It would be awesome if they could keep the game feeling new and exciting with more frequent updates. But hey, overall, it's a minor gripe. Cards Against Humanity is a winner in my book. It's hilarious, it's a fantastic bonding activity with the family, and it's just the right amount of irreverent. If you haven't given it a shot yet, you're missing out on some seriously good times!

  • Great game to entertain adult friends and family. Pushes your mind just to the brink of inappropriate making for a lot laughs and fun! When you play too often then there are additional sets of cards to play.

  • This is a fantastic game to play with people you know. This has become the go to game when my family gets together. There are some cards that some may find inappropriate but for the most part it is always a good time.

  • Such a fun game! It will make everyone laugh and have a great time.

  • Great game the first dozen times you play it. After a while it gets old and you’ll need to buy the expansion packs to keep things fre$h. I’d rate it higher but I’ve played so much that its lost its luster. Still would recommend to anyone that has never played it! Pro tip: do not bust it out at a family function unless your family is cool.

  • Fun game. Not for the easily offended.. had us in hysterics

  • My friends and I LOVE Cards Against Humanity, we have both expander packs. Hilarious fun

  • Great the first few times you play, then the novelty wears off. Amazing to play with the few people in the world who haven't heard of it.

  • Cards Against Humanity brings a refreshing twist to game nights with its edgy and humorous content. It's a game that pushes boundaries and sparks laughter with its clever and often irreverent cards. While not for the faint of heart, its popularity lies in its ability to bring people together through shared humor and outrageous gameplay. It's an instant hit for those who enjoy a dose of dark comedy with their friends. However, it's important to choose your audience wisely, as the game's content is not suitable for all. Overall, it's a well-designed game that promises a memorable and hilarious experience.

  • Love this game! Good with any crowd - recently improvised to use as a work icebreaker and it was a huge hit!

  • Fun game to play. I couldn’t stop laughing. They have amazing expansion packs.

  • The best experience. Did try to play at thanksgiving with my grandma present, and wouldnt recommend that. However, such a fun game. always leads to a ton of laughter and good times

  • I nearly peed myself playing this game!!

  • Such a classic game to play with friends or family! This has become our go to game to get out when having people over. Super easy to understand and everyone always has a good laugh!

  • This is a great party game to play with friends! It's perfect for groups between 5-10 people and you can play the game for 30 minutes or for 2 hours. Purchasing the expansion packs definitely helps with changing the game up every time you play.

  • Cards Against Humanity is a party game that takes the classic "fill in the blank" format and throws it into a blender with dark humor, social commentary, and a whole lot of irreverence. If you're easily offended or prefer your humor clean, this game is not for you. But if you're looking for a laugh-out-loud experience that doesn't shy away from the taboo, then Cards Against Humanity might be your new favorite party game.
