Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • This is a really fun game to play with a big group of people. We’ve always had a great time especially when playing with open minded people

  • Classic fun game, lots of extensions. Hot tip: play with your parents to make them uncomfortable

  • Our most favorite game for belly laughs with friends. I love the kids version too!

  • I played with my friends in a park. Really funny game we had laughs. We did have some trouble following the rules. Overall good product.

  • Easy, fun adult game to play with your friends. Also super straightforward to play and use. Downside is that it gets repetitive quickly if you’re playing with a big group.

  • played at a friend's place fro the first time. great board games for ADULTS, icebreaking

  • Beat game ever and so so much fun to play with family and friends. If you’re hosting a game night I highly suggest!

  • Perfect game for a group of friends. I love that the game gets better the more that you know the friends you are playing with. You can alter your answers according to who is in charge of choosing the winner that round . ex. if you have an inside joke, memory etc that can correlate. Such a good ice breaker even if you're just getting to know one another!

  • So much fun! Wish it came with more cards initially but love the expansion packs.

  • It's a fun party game amongst people you know well. Unfortunately I find that it doesnt work well when you're trying to break the ice / get to know new people which is what I like to use board games / card games for.

  • Recently played this for the first time with 4 other friends at a low key brewery. It was soooo fun!! If you’re ok with occasional dark or sexual humor this is a great game for you. Definitely had a ton of laughs!

  • Love this game! Easy to play with the perfect balance of raunchy, silly, and dark humor. 10/10 will be playing again.

  • Cards Against Humanity is awesome the first, fourth, even seventh time you play it. So unexpected and shocking. After that, there are diminishing returns with each additional play as the shock value lowers and you start to see the cards that get the best reactions from people (sometimes without even having the perfect prompt). Would definitely recommend as a fun party / drinking game here and there.

  • Hilarious game, can't stop playing! These cards always find a way to emerge during meet ups.

  • Love these! I stash them in my bag on group trips. We’ve laughed so hard, there may have been some incontinence. Perfect for the dark humor crowd.
