  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay

  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • This card game is a great way to have fun with family and friends especially when at a party!

  • Great game to laugh and pass the time! Allows for new bonding experiences and conversations to take place within social settings

  • Hilarious game for game night but also cringey. You have to play with people you’re very comfortable with.

  • The best party game when you hit that point when you want to change things up and have a few laughs.

  • Funny game. Definitely gets us laughing like crazy!!! Highly recommend. Easy to travel with too.

  • This game is absolutely hilarious and perfect for a night of inappropriate laughter with friends. The dark humor and clever card combinations always leave us in stitches. I appreciate the variety of cards and the sheer number of possibilities. It keeps the game fresh and ensures that no two rounds are ever the same. Plus, the expansion packs add even more outrageous options to keep the fun going. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is that it's definitely not for everyone. Some people might find the content offensive or uncomfortable. It's important to know your audience and make sure everyone is on board with the irreverent humor.

  • Such a fun game for parties or group hangs. Literally good for any event or gathering. Also a great ice breaker or way to meet new friends QUICKLY.

  • We've actually only played it once, but it's a fun game. I feel like having played it once was enough? We had fun with it, but after a while, it felt like it got a little old. Now that it's been awhile, it might be good to play again.

  • We played the family edition when my kids were teens, and have moved up to the original. This game a good time as long as you remember it's all in fun.

  • I like the concept of this game but I find that it gets very boring after a while. And I found that if you've played it multiple times before it doesn't really get any funnier than the first few times when you didn't know what to expect. Maybe as a drinking or college game, but I don't see it as a game I'd put on my board game rotation.

  • A fairly fun game, definitely for adults! Most of the cards are decently funny, but there are some times when the card's suggestions can cross the line. The company's cynical message comes through; Cards Against Humanity holds interesting Black Friday promos.

  • The best game ever. More fun with multiple people but not too many. Get the expansion packs when you get bored.

  • Well it is one of those games that keep my family together on a Sunday night. Well worth the money and family time.

  • Are you a horrible person? No? Then this game isn't for you. Seriously. You will be offended. But, if you're not easily offended or like raunchy games with dead baby jokes and such. This is the ADULT version of Apples to Apples. Definitely a blast with friends who are like-minded!

  • Such a classic. One of my favorite card games to play. Wether it’s playing with your grandma or your old college buddies, cards against humanity is an all time classic comedy card game. Guaranteed to make you laugh so hard you pee your pants- it’s my favorite go to game for a great night.

  • This game is overhyped. It relies on crass humor to garner shock value rather than actually having a superior or thoughtful game. Apples to Apples is the same format and allows for a bit more creativity, or a DIY game of Celebrity will also scratch the same itch.

  • As a company I find them to be amusingly entertaining. The game itself was fun for the first few times played. However this is a game That really requires alcohol or another intoxication method to remain as funny in the long run. It’s essentially an x-rated mad libs party game where the options are extremely inappropriate. Half of the fun is watching the people read the horrific statements out loud to a group.
