Blue Stripes Urban Cacao earns positive reviews for innovative, upcycled cacao products that hydrate and satisfy, though taste divides. Reviewers praise the refreshing, coconut-water–like cacao water with natural electrolytes and the dark chocolate’s rich, not-too-sweet flavor, but note inconsistent fruit flavors (especially mango), occasional sour or bitter notes, and chocolate that melts or softens quickly.

I have never heard of cacao water before trying this. It honestly tasted just like coconut water, but with a hint of nutty tones. I tried the plain variety so I could get the pure taste, then later bought the lime variety. It's a very hydrating drink containing natural vitamins and minerals. The lime flavor tasted tart, fresh, and natural.

It tastes somewhat fruity sweet without any sugar nor sweeteners of any sort. I like it with food instead of 100% juices I drink that have way more calories and less nutrients. Other than that it doesn’t make me feel any greater than juice, but certainly satisfies better. I will continue to pick during sales, but regular price is a little steep, I think. Definitely unique!

These really surprised me. They are fully of flavor. I feel good eating products with a sustainable mission and only 4 ingredients. They are also Plastic Neutral. I can’t wait to try more of their products.

I was able to try both the chocolates and water for free through a rebate program. I did not like the taste of the water at all so I would not purchase those. The chocolate on the other hand is good. I love all of the different flavors.

I have not tried their Cacao water, so I can't speak to that, though it sounds like quite an experience. I have purchased their Whole Cacao Dark Chocolate Bars a number of times and it's a great clean snacking chocolate, dark with a slight fruitiness.

I liked this cacao water a lot. It had a very light flavor . It feels very refreshing and hydrating. I really like the packaging on these. It is a healthy way to keep hydrated so I would definitely recommend and would repurchase in the future.

Blue Stripes Cacao water is so delicious and unique. My favorite is the original so you can taste the cacao water alone. It’s full of natural electrolytes so it’s really hydrating. I like it when I’m working out or after a night of drinks. It’s a delicious drink with great benefits. Their products are also up cycled so you also feel good about supporting their mission.

I like the mission behind their products more than anything else, but the taste of the drinks isn't for me. Both flavors tasted the same to me. The mango one had no mango flavor. The cacao flavor itself I insist tastes kind of sour like pickles, but my partner thinks I'm crazy. The sugar content in these is also somehow surprisingly large, so I can only assume that the cacao fruit itself naturally contains a lot. It's just odd to me because it doesn't taste particularly sweet given the slightly sour flavor of the drink. I also wish these were bottled in something other than plastic. On the flipside, their chocolate bar I tried tastes amazing and has the slightly fruity taste to it that gives it depth. I definitely recommend their chocolate bars.

Was intrigued by the concept of bottled cacao water. I tried the mango variety and no, there is no “chocolate” flavor to the water itself. It feels a bit similar to drinking flavored coconut water. The mango taste wasn’t too strong. Refreshing!

They had a good tart taste, reminiscent of a mango. And they are so healthy! And upcycled! When I opened the bag, they had a smell I was unfamiliar with.A perfect balance of tangy and sweet fruity taste profiles with a natural vanilla twist.

I was excited to try Blue Stripes because the marketing was so stinking cute. I mean, who doesn’t like monkeys? This drink is made of cacao and tastes sort of like a cross between lemonade and coconut water. I enjoyed the mild tropical taste and am eager to try all of the flavors. It’s super hydrating and has no added sugar. I definitely recommend this brand!

Surprisingly good! I really like that the company uses the whole cacao plant which means it is sustainable. It was flavorful and worth the money

I really enjoyed this *upcycled* cacao water! Not only is the concept behind it really cool, but the drink itself was insanely hydrating! Plus, it contains SO many vitamins and nutrients!
this product was definitely not for me but i’m sure there would be some people that would old enjoy it. to be frank, i just didn’t like it. i wasn’t getting much mango flavor, mostly just tartness. while i like this brand’s mission, i would not recommend this to anyone.
I drank this beverage in one big sip after taking a hot yoga class so you can say I enjoyed it! It tasted salty and limey. It is kind of like a coconut water but made of cacao so I would imagine if you weren’t a fan of coconut but wanted a natural electrolyte beverage this would be a great option. I love coconut though so I still think I like coconut water better overall.
Really tasty. My favorite is the Passion fruit version - it tastes like lychee water. It's very hydrating, and easy to drink. Overall super tasty and the company has a good mission behind it. I just wish it was a bigger Oz amount.

I tried the almond butter variety, and I noticed some large almond pieces but not much almond butter. The bar has divots, making it easier to break into 3 smaller pieces. The flavor is rich, dark, and just the right amount of sweet. No strange taste, which surprised me considering this chocolate is made with the entire cacao pod. I like that this bar can be stored at room temp. I noticed that it was pretty soft and a bit quick to melt on my fingers when I opened it. I think I'll keep it in the fridge since I prefer a harder bite. Overall, I like how this chocolate is simple, not too sweet, and made with an innovative process (for less waste and more nutrients).
Well it’s ok. But nothing special. A bit of bitterness and sour. But I got mango and there wasn’t any mango flavor.
