  • Painful break-in period

BIRKENSTOCK earns strong reviews for comfort and longevity: the contoured cork footbed molds to feet, offers solid arch support, and many pairs last years, even through daily wear. Reviews also flag drawbacks—tough break‑in with blisters for some, sizing can run wide or confusing, footbed imprints and odor in heat, water can damage cork, and several cite faster‑wearing soles or recent durability concerns.

  • Have a pair of the leather Arizonas as well as the plastic in a fun blue colour. The comfiest shoe, supportive and lasts well

  • Love the brand. Comfortable shoes, lifetime purchase

  • I have multiple pairs of Birkenstock sandals and a pair of clogs. I love how easy they are to slip on, how comfortable and how long they last. I switched my fiancé to them as well because he kept stealing mine.

  • I have been a lover of Birkenstocks for several years now! I have had many pairs of over the years. The last few years, the brand has taken the shoe to the next level with collaborations and new takes on classic models. These shoes are always comfortable!

  • Very cute and stylish but after wearing for a long period of time walking I started to get blisters.

  • Love love love Birkenstocks. I have the Arizona style in suede and leather. Takes a bit to break in but once you do you’ll never want to take them off. My only complaint is that you can’t really get them soaked so don’t get caught in the rain with them! Even so, they are my favorite sandal.

  • Love my birks! They have a variety of shoe styles for everyone. Very cute colors and are still comfortable for me after two foot surgeries!

  • Great shoes for every occasion, but if you have any tendency for sweaty feet be careful. I got terrible blisters at my sisters wedding because I switched into my Birkenstocks.

  • Classic - takes a week or so for my feet to adjust but nothing better for casual comfort.

  • Staple shoes, have been wearing them for years. Really love the variety that that have.

  • Great quality and more comfortable than any of my sneakers. Love these shoes and will continue to buy more pairs :)

  • I have two pairs of Arizona sandals-- one for wearing around the house (they've gotten messy from paint stain and simply wearing so much) and one for out and about. I pair them with everything, and my feet are always so happy. Beware when breaking in-- it takes longer than you think. I thought a week would be fine for a new pair, but they tore my feet up at Disney World. Another trip, I wore an older, broken-in pair and had no issues! Boston clogs were popular in middle school, and I'm happy to see that the quality has remained over the last 20+ years.

  • The only shoes I wear in the summer. These are the nicest shoes you can walk in. Personally, I think they are suitable for almost all occasions. I wear them during the day, to the beach, to dinner in the evening and even to my graduation.

  • Literally the best sandals out there, been wearing them 2 summers straight, hard to wear anything else because of the comfort they offer. They also are really basic simple good design.

  • I had some Birkenstocks when I was in high school and these are my first pair in about 15 ish years. The brand seems the same. I specifically wanted to try these since they're vegan. I've used them as a secondary pair of sandals for one summer and part of the fall season now. They do take a while to wear in and I did wear socks when them to start so that I didn't get blisters. I find that they are holding pretty well. The Vegan leather has not started to crack, though I am careful about getting them wet. The ends of the straps that are adjustable ar starting curl up a bit, which asthetically doesn't look as nice since the giltter is only on one side of the vegan leather, but they still work fine. I'm not sure if I would pay the full price for these given how much wear shows given the amount of use, but they are comfy and serve their purpose. I love that the box is simple cardboard so that I can recycle the packing too.

  • I'm a lesbian, so Birkenstocks are practically thrust upon us in our Coming Out Swag Bag. Somehow, I've accumulated three pairs of Arizona sandals and a duo of Boston clogs (they're coming back, I swear). My gay feet and I have never been happier. The footbed has decent support and the cork sole is super durable. If you're going to be doing a lot of water stuff — like camping and it always, always rains — I'd consider shopping from the Essentials lineups, as the cork sole will start to deteriorate faster. I typically wear an 8.5 in women's sneakers, and the US 8/8.5 Birkenstock sizing always fits like a glove. A foot glove, in this case.

  • I have 3 pairs of Birkenstocks, and have worn them for the last 5 years. Once you spend a couple of days breaking these in, you won't be able to find a more comfortable shoe. It truly molds to your feet and are extremely durable.
